Fat fighting kids parks

a few are popping up for the oldies to use also as well as kids part of a drive to get people more mobile and active

good idea lets hope they dont get spray painted and ruined by people

Yeah, they're everywhere at the London boroughs. Never seen anyone on 'em though.

Whatever happened to a good old fashioned climbing frame. The park I uesd to play in when I was 5-10 had this awesome tractor shaped climbing frame that was very cube shaped and you could venture inside it, 'twas huge at the time. Now they have this curvy modern thing that looks like nothing in particular, its far too safe to have fun on (I would imagine anyway :p).

Parks today are way better than the parks we had.

Took Lewis to a park called poolsbrook what had a fortress made out of ropes that was about 20ft high, with it's own little den bits on it. A roller coaster thing that moves with your weight and balance and loads of other cool stuff.

If the park didn't have so many other parents there, i would have been climbing up on everything to :D

You could get a better workout on the actual playground equipment. You'd also get a better workout just running around the park instead of flapping your legs on those retarded contraptions.

btw they copied this idea from communist china

It's a token gesture at best. It will do absolutely nothing to make kids thinner. It won't do anything for anybody in fact, except maybe help an 80 year old slightly with their arthritis.

There's one of these on the promenade outside my flat. It's a good idea, and it gets used regularly. When I take the dog for a walk in the morning/evening, I often see people using it as well as jogging on the promenade. They're spsonored by Adidas I think.

It's better than nothing at all. As I said, the one near me is in a park where many people go jogging, so it's good to have access to some basic gym equipment to mix with your cardio workout. It's just making the equipment more easily accessible for the public.

They have these kinds of things darted all along coastal walk ways around Australia. Very handy when going for a run, to just jump on one of these and use one in between. Although Australia has a much better climate so it's probably much nicer using them then in rain soaked Britain.

Was going to say that there's loads of these in the far east, but mostly used by the elderly. Dunno why the communist is relevant though :p.

Yet when I spotted one in my local London Park, I was surprised by just how many people were using it. Not everyone can afford, or wants to have a gym contract, so that's why they have proved to be quite popular.
