Who actually writes all the wikipedia pages?

Some of it edit history usernames appears to be bots, they must grab a lot of the info from other sources automatically?
 
They're just normal people kwerk, in what way does them expressing their knowledge for the benefit of other people make them sad? The saddo's in this world are the people who sit down and do nothing for the rest of their life. Leaching from society and giving nothing back.
 
anyone can write a wiki page, it then gets added to by people. but if the wiki gods decide its lies, they remove it.
kwerk, you could start your own wiki page, with all your enlightening thoughts on it.

I have nothing to say in this thread, other than to state that anyone who is willing to take time out to share their knowledge about any subject with others is not a "saddo".

Some of the stuff is so utterly obscure I have to wonder how they get the idea to even start the wiki page in the first place. And why bother?

Maybe it's just the collector/organizer mentality.
 
They are not sad, they are heroes.
They spend vast amount of hours allowing knowledge to be shared and don't get paid a single pence.

Usuaully your post dont annoy me much. But this one has absolutely raged me beyond belief.

People who actually know what they're talking about, and are qualified in a specialist subject/ know enough about the subject to impart the information on to others write these pages.

They are also the same people, who, in many cases, have worked for at least 3 of thier lives getting a degree in something meaningful.

They are then the same people who go on to research other things, and aid advancements in science. These include people who know the physics behind the LED screen you're looking at, or people who are trying to cure cancer.

People who are actually doing something with thier lives write those pages.

Tell me, what do you do with your life kwerk?

Only obscure to people who don't have an understanding of the topic in question. I'm pretty sure that there are aspects of my day job, that if I posted them on Wiki., people wouldn't understand them and think them to be obscure as the link to the Catechin page that you posted. Just as I would think it's obscure if, for example, a game-theorist posted about certain aspects of their field of research.

Not waste it typing up extremely detailed wikipedia pages that 4 people will read.
 
Kwerk you should start a wiki page, seriously, all your information on gay people, anti-mavity and toilet roll - You'd be number 1!
