iRacing

I raced using my iPhones 3G connection a few weeks back without any problems.

Yeah I guess my ping wont be worse then Aussie drivers. Well the cars that I have driven today - caddie, corvette and the DP riley they didnt spin once when I was test driving them.

Now that im out of rookie what should i be doing . ( road racing wise - not ovals :P )

whats good crack and is also good at learning you.

or just stick at the mx5 with the rookies that think they are in dodgems,, :)

All depends what you like, you've got the MX5, Solstice and Spec Racer Ford, the solstice is similar-ish to the mx5, the spec racer is a completely different beast...

Then there's new content, at D-Class this is Jetta, Mustang and Skippy. I dislike the Jetta, Mustang is ok but very much an american car, Skippy is awesome but handling can be tricky, been said before but it's similar to the spec racer, so try the spec racer first.

And onto learning stuff, imo the Skippy is great for this, to drive that quickly needs great car control and making it behave how you want...

Or you can use the basic content in a variety of series to skip D class completely and join us in the Radical :p

speaking of the radical, i forgot how good mosport is, loving it.

just been i a practice hosted server ran a 1.13.5 still had time to find aswell so im a fair bit faster than last season...

Sounds like a good plan :P but i recon even if i did get the Radical , you guys are leagues ahead of me :D so would be 2013 by time i get caught up :)
If i do skip D , do i have to buy a d class car and course to do 4 x TT and 4 x races to get fast tracked at the end of d class.

btw is the Radical a smooth predictable car or is it like the Cadillac CTS-V , which seems a real handfull

skip handles like a plank of wood aparently and a lot of people hate it.

you might wanna just stick to the "in racing news mc" competition thats a multi car series with one of the cars beeing an mx5

Never seen a cars handling of a car compared to a plank of wood before, really not sure it makes any sense :p

As for a lot of people hating it, well it's still one of the most popular road series (last I saw it was second most popular, just a tiny bit behind the Star Mazda) so god knows what these people that hate it are racing :p

Anyway, I find the radical a fairly smooth and progressive car, far better than the Caddy when I tried it during week 13.

To progress from D to C you just need to run 4 sessions in an eligible series, which means either a D-Class or C-Class series (using the >4.0 SR option), so either in the Radical or Star Mazda as C-Class or some of the base content for D-Class.

The Mustang is slow in, sideways out, it's not too bad but lacks agility and is hardly a finesse car. I own it but I've yet to do any official races in it.

Woohoo, just got a second hand G25 on eBay. It's also had some Nixxin brake mod done to it which apparently is a good thing.

nice 1 i have the nixim mod in my g27 pedals its great, its a lot stiffer to press...

really enjoying mosport in the radical down to a 1.13.3 now, im loosing time in t1 cant seem to nail it right now...

I just need to get used to have a clutch and proper stick shift. I usually just use paddle shift with auto clutch (because I had no clutch pedal).

Do people tend to switch between paddle shift and stick shift depending on what car they're in (for realism)?

Do you still use a clutch pedal with paddle shift?

I use a sequential stick shifter I have all the aids off, I only race the radical and we only need to clutch to set off, to go up a gear just knock it up but to come down you need to blip the throttle at the same time as you knock it down..

I do you the clutch and h pattern if I'm messing about in other cars that use them...

Really liking this weeks radical track. Another iracing track id never heard of saw or raced on. Nice fast track, that Moss bend is a beast. Got a line im happy with through it, just have to be very careful with the exit. Struggling a little with the last set of bends not sure of my line, braking point and gears there.

But was quite happy with my first hour on the track got down to the 14s which im happy with but im still miles off the fast guys. Need to put some time in the rad this week so i can Finally race.
