And what... that is supposed to be acceptable?

I pay for a premium service so I expect a premium service, the fact that they sell a product they cannot provide is their issue, not mine.
has VM came out to seen if it your end?

VM is in progress of upgrading the hardware in every area

but tbh i haven't had a real bad issue since i joined VM/NTL over 16-17 years

Nope, they haven't come out, they fully admit its their fault and its caused by over-utilisation but don't have a repair date. I'm hoping the speed increase also includes some new hardware but we'll have to see.

VM issues in Brighton are well documented on the internet, unfortunatley I didn't see this before I signed up.

Its very area dependant, most don't have issues but those of us that do seem to be ignored unless complaints are iled.

It's widely documented that a lot of the VM network is quite frankly sub-standard.
yeah but their doing the network upgrade from 2011 and ends 2013 so by 2013 every area should have a good quality network ..

also if everyone moves from VM to BT most likely BT will start getting issues. and i bet BT won't hurry to fix issues just like VM

Their so called network upgrades were first meant to be finished this summer. I highly doubt that Virgin will sort their issues out within 2-3 years. I'd love to see it happen, as I had great service with them for around 4 years, but judging by past experience, it won't happen and their promised dates will slip and slide.

As for BT, I think you need to read into the (Openreach) 21CN network before you make statements like you have.

i said most likely, it doesn't mean it would happen .....

but i know 1 thing for sure, BT don't hurry to fix issues if any issues does happen just like VM

What?

You should start backing up these statements.
i mean any kind of internet issues ...

i had BT about a year or so ago it was going to be used as a secondary internet access but was getting so many issues such as slow speed, lots of drop outs, ect. it took them well over a month to find the issue

no internet service provider is perfect ...... it seem like if a person puts BT down other people don't like it, but it's fine to do it with VM

Nope, VM are terrible these days and far worse than BT. BT are far from saints but VM fully expect customers to put up with **** connections for a year or longer whilst still paying full price (unless you spend hours upon hours complaining and negotiating with various beleaguered CS staff).

similar to BT, they wanted me to continue paying full price while they find the issue then wait another month or so for them to sort it. in the end i left BT

the engineer just left, he said my downstream powel levels were very high because the cabinet is literally outside my house next to my drive way. He done something in cabinet and attached something to the superhub, now my speed are around 80mb...

An isolated line issue is a little different to widespread congestion.

So he fitted a Attenuator. Put the superhub in modem mode then reboot try a speed test at http://speedtest.magnet.ie/

If that works then put the superhub back to normal and set it back up.
Why VM put Attenuators on superhubs I will never know, they should fix the problem.

If the power levels are too high it won't sync properly, there is a good thread about the ideal levels on the Virgin forums.

The attenuator is to bring the levels down to ideal values.
