Chemistry/Sulhpur question

I'm geting some sulhpur that I want to burn in my flat. Can someone tell me :-

1) Whats the best way to burn it? Do I just light it and leave it?

2) Is it toxic?

3) If it's toxic how much should I burn and how long will it be before its safe to enter the room again?

Jesus H, this forum never ceases to amaze me.

1) Sulphur is not incense, it stinks of eggs.
2) It makes sulphur dioxide when it burns which yes, is pretty noxious. Mixed with water it then makes sulphuric acid so if you breath in the fumes expect to get some lung burn.
3) Why the smeg do you a) want to burn it and b) want to burn it inside?

I would say burning suphur in your home is a bad idea.

just be very very careful while protecting yourself from "evil spirits" you don't kill the other people in your building.

no you ****ing Muppet you should not leave an unattended chemical fire that produces poisonous fumes in an residential building. For the love of Christ do it in the black yard, don't put others at risk for your insanity.

Thanks for the advice everyone. I won't be buying any now.

Just that I was reading a spiritual book last night that said burning it cleanses your home/banishes negative entities. Thought I'd double check first before trying it though..
