Long songs that never get boring....

Had this idea from a conversation at work today.

A work colleague couldn't believe that most of the songs on a cd I had lent him were longer than 6 minutes (he's got very narrow views when it comes to music). To him it's either a 3-4 minute pop song or that's the end of it, which I've no problem with if that's your thing, I was just surprised.
For anyone wondering the album was a Porcupine Tree album.

Anyway....

Made me wonder what other people's favourite 'longer songs' are.

Here's a few of mine.....

Marillion - The Invisible Man
Porcupine Tree - Anesthesise
Dire Straits - Telegraph Road
Tool - Lateralus
Marillion - Ocean Cloud
Pink Floyd - Echoes
Type 0 Negative - Haunted
Tangerine Dream - Rubycon

Anyway, there's a few off the top of my head, I'll try and post more when I get a chance.

Stone Roses - Fools Gold
Sigur Rós - Viðrar vel til loftárása
Elbow - Newborn
Elbow - One Day Like This

That's my stand out ones.

green caranation light of day day of darkness or whatever lol

I thought of this but it wouldn't quite make my list.

"Crimson" by Edge of Sanity; "The Great Misconceptions of Me" by W.A.S.P; "Still Remains" by Fates Warning, "Rediscovery (Part II): The New Mythology" by Symphony X and "Cicatriz ESP" by The Mars Volta are just some. And countless Opeth songs. There are just too many to name, and I won't even go into ambient.

Lack of Youtube links/embedded Youtube videos = fail thread.

Fine. Here are two I mentioned.

Jimi Hendrix - Machine Gun

Both Fillmore versions and the one at Isle of Wight (over 20 minutes of awesome!)

Edit: Or Band of Gypsys, for the pedants. ;)
