Hi guys,

Let's start off with saying any "Shouldn't have done it in the first place" posts get you -1 cookie, as I know everyone loves cookies...

Anyways! I've decided to close my ear gauges, if you don't know what they are it's basically a hole in your ear lobe, larger than a usual piercing.

I stretched my ears up to 12mm, both ears. But I've now decided I want to try and close them up due to future job prospects, I am working currently but that's this employer, others may differ..

Does anyone have any tips for closing them? I know they won't close fully but can anyone give me their own experiences, or experiences of others they know in a similar position? If indeed they are any.

Thanks ;)

EEEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww :p

I'd like to be more constructive but I'm not a plastic surgeon. :D

Mine were 10mm, just downsized gradually and they closed to a pair of small slits.

You can get the done surgically with good results for about £300 or so IIRC.

With surgery, will that be £300 per ear or for both?

Also does anyone know what the result looks like after that?

@Mickey Bit of an odd question... But could you take a picture of your ears? :P

Edit:

@valkia Mhmm, I heard that also but by the time I read it I was already at 12. :/

why do it in the first place. it looks awful and god knows whats gonna happen to your ears as you start to age.

Although I know I shouldn't have done it in the first place, I did. That's that. I can't change that.. My brother started to do his, I told him don't, told him that I regret doing it myself. But he didn't listen and continued anyway.

The fact of the matter is, if a person is set on doing something, they won't listen to others opinions on it and they won't think of the consequences of what they are doing, much like I didn't.

is that how your ear looks?
DO NOT CLICK THE SPOILER IF YOU DO NoT WANT TO SEE SOMEONES EAR THAT HAS HAD A HOLE STRETCHED INTO IT

why would anyone do this? i thought tattoos were bad but mutilating your own body ......

Well might as well use them as keyrings while you still can?

Actually, they are quite handy for hanging my T-shirt on (Whilst on a hanger of course) whilst I'm getting dressed.

No, actually. I will show you shortly. ;)

Quite frankly, it's a fashion thing in the alternative scene really..

My ears are 14mm at the moment and i plan to go to 18mm :D

The easiest way/pain free is to just gradually down size. Go back to 10mm plugs/tunnels. Then once thats a good fit go to an 8mm etc.

THEY ARE NOT GAUGES, AAAAAAARGH!

A gauge is a unit of measurement, so you may as well be saying you're wanting to close your inches!

Depends how bad/good you're stretching was. If it was slow and done properly with no cat's bum or tearing then the success of a cleaner close is higher. If you rushed it and "ripped" the ear in the process, as many of the uneducated in body modifications do, then you'll most likely be left with horrible scars.

Some piercers can perform a percedure to help close them. basically ear is scalpalled and sown up.

Shouldn't have done it in the first place. SHUT UP AND TAKE MY COOKIES.

All the more cookies for me. :>

I do have my old ones around, I'll try that. :) Thanks

Also, 2 pictures. One without them in (Me about 5 minutes ago) and one with them in (The weekend, hold the laughs of my photo. I know I look silly. ;) )

you're

cat's

THAT IS NOT CORRECT PUNCTUATION.

An apostrophe in "you're" turns the word into "You are", and adding one to "cats" makes it either possessive or "cat is"/"cat has".

:edit: Apologies for adding nothing to this thread. I feel dirty, but I like it.

I thought I was correct =/

you're wanting to close your inches! = You are wanting to close your inches!

no cat's bum = a bum belonging to a cat.
