How did your username come about?

As title suggests how was your user name born?
Mine is sea as in part of seabiscuits username also kitchen as i love cooking! Though as of September it will change again! :D
 
It started over 10 years ago and involved many hours of meditation and contemplation including a trip to a Tibetan monastery where I spent a year in total silence in order to properly appreciate the magnitude and implications of the decision I was about to make at which point I was finally content to go ahead and create a user account using my first name, an underscore, and the first letter of my last name. Appropriate amounts of win ensued.
 
Was looking for a new Quake multiplayer name in 2001-ish. Did the old trick of opening the dictionary at a random page with my eyes closed and pointing. Liked the description.
 
I've been Halk for years, it comes from me naming characters in games after Halk the Barbarian from Dungeon Master in the 80s - so when I was playing online I used Halk. I didn't use it when I was playing games online initially, I don't think I started using Halk until maybe the early 90s. (I found out recently the game designers based the character on Conan the Barbarian).

At some point in a name change thread I asked for "The" to be added. I'm not sure why, I think it makes me look a bit pretentious.
