I never take action in relation to anything said against me as that could be seen as being unfair, I would always refer it and then leave decisions to others

That's a good policy, I wasn't accusing you of that btw, I've never seen it happen here

I think the whole problem here is that Tummy takes offense way to easily when somebody mentions anything that could even be related to race/colour/nationality/accent/big ears/funny looking hair/squinty eyes. Then twists this inside his own head to make it seem that the comment is specificially aimed at himself. He then gets rilled up and accuses people of things which are totally out of context.

Where have I ACCUSED Rotty of being Racist?

By extension. If they're no similar to calling someone 'bald or short' would you not use them in every day use? To specifically speak to someone?

.

I would not refer ro someone by a racist word and neither would I call someone short, disabled etc, so yes in that respect they are similar

History of the word, purely from that stand point.

The hiostorical term of "****" is something which was taken as racist in the 1960/1970s when immigration happened into the UK. This as, I lead to believe, was something that was made to be taken as an insult by the people from India, due to the hatred of Pakistan from the historical wars between the two countries.

At the end of the day I recall a scene from west-is-west based on this time, and a small coloured child run down the street shouting "the ****'s are coming" it was about another family coming to visit to discuss an arranged wedding. Now this film was made by coloured people (or whatever term is least racist for Tummy and anybody else) and they acted out this scene. They did not take offence to this, as it was light hearted.

Much like ripped your mates down the pub for being fat/ugly/short/spotty etc. It's part of human nature, take things as they are intended, not as an almost killing blow to your very existance.

Was this not cleared up in a thread in GD before?

The point I'm making is that you take things way to personally, you need to not get so offended for the most trivial of things.

I saw this as condoning (via extension) racism. I don't think that's a trivial thing. I found that pretty offensive.

I've been destroyed in here the past week anyway. I can take it. I don't mind. It's part of having an opinion I guess.

Whatever, moved on :)

Why's calling someone a **** worse than mocking someone for being short, out of interest? Where do you draw the line? When they're below the national average? When someone's a midget?

What about if someone's ugly? Is that okay? Is it okay until it's because they were disfigured at birth?

What if someone's disabled? Is that the same level of seriousness as racist words? Or does racist stuff trump all?

If someone's being hateful, why do the specific words matter?

I'm genuinely curious/have just started thinking about it a bit... I'm not trying to excuse it, it's just an academic exercise.
BOOM. Moses dropping tha knowledge bomb. Back to Footbal as cheets suggested?

Here's a GIF of Young's dive:

Barton's been given a 12 match ban. I'm not sure how they come up with that number. On the basis that each offense was worth a red card and with each additional red card resulting in an extra game added to the ban, he should have been banned for 15 games.

The "Headbutt" on Kompany wasn't worthy of a red card IMO. I've seen players get away with that in the past and not get a 3 match ban.
I think when these offences happen that are not carded by the ref they just get assessed and given an arbitrary punishment based on the panel assessment.

My view is a 12 match ban is probably about right, the guy is a complete moron and no doubt next season we'll be hearing about how he should be in the England squad again. The kick on Aguero was the real disgrace, and he's even admitted that it was a deliberate attempt to try and provoke an opposition player into getting carded (i.e. it wasn't a case of the red mist descending and him "losing it", it was a malicious, planned action)
