Wendler / smolov? What made you mix the 2? both are fantastic on there own without much modification

I'm enjoying Wendler and seeing nice progress on deads/squats but my bench has suffered in recent months. Smolov jr should see that change.

That looks like a recipe for some serious suffering! Those consecutive high rep days might take their toll.

I'll be watching this closely if I feel I'm overdoing it I'll put a stop to it and revert to 531.

Smolov JR - Bench
1RM 110
70% 77 - Thurs - 6x6 (77.5 rounded)
75% 82.5 - Sat - 7x5
80% 88 - Sun - 8x4 (87.5 rounded)
85% 93.5 - Tue- 10x3 (92.5 rounded)

Let's see how we go :)

Got triceps?

I think if you look, it's no different to the guy on the right, just the sheer size of his triceps exaggerates it some what

Did some shoulder and forearm work today:

DB Shoulder Press: 2x16kg x8, x8, x8
DB Front Raise: 2x6kg x8, x8, x8
DB Side Riase: 2x6kg x8, x8, x8
Pinch-grip Plate shrugs: 2x10kg x8, x8, x8
DB Farmers Walk: 2x36kg for a total of 100m.

The pinch-grip shrugs and the farmers walk were purely experimental. It will be interesting to see what happens if I keep this up on shoulder day for the next couple of weeks before rock-climbing starts.

I had to stop 5 times, but my forearms were in agony after the farmers walk. I will be stopping the farmers walk and pinch-grip plate shrugs a week before I start my rock climbing up again as I don't want my forearms too fatigued before then. I will still continue with a 4 day split however, but the rock climbing means I will be doing 5 days of work with 2 rest days.

Plan tomorrow is to do my chest. I like my shoulder workout because it's over pretty quickly and means I can fit in other things.

Just sayin'.

Heh...I was going to say that :p

It may not be a good idea...But as FF said as long as you know what you are doing, and you aren't putting LOADS of pressure on your back etc, it might help some people.

Currently if I tried that, it would snap my back :p

loads of pressuse is really relative, i SLDL 170 for 8 reps so even with full on swings i dont see a 50-60kg bar doing me any harm, i like cheat reps to finish the biceps but prefer a good controlled super set. Having said which watching a 70kg guy swinging a 40kg bar wildly does make me wince

This week as been terrible, drinking Saturday night ruined my workout. Fitness test today, so skipped last nights leg session and a social function tonight.

Going to try and stay off the drink tonight, hangover free workout tomorrow or a late night session tonight.

Still quite enjoying this PHAT routine, body is still feeling it from 'day 3' workout

Chest session last night...

It was weird...Did a right old random workout. Chest just didn't feel worked enough so blasted it with some flyes at the end. My CGBP was terrible as well for some reason, left side kept almost failing which brought on poor form, and my right shoulder was just twinging (but it could lift the weight more. I think it was due to me doing an extra workout of flat DB bench...Oh well.

Cardio and core tonight

Love DB flat bench. :)

Well my leg workout the other day still has my legs in ruins, worst fitness test of my career! Legs started to wobble near the end and the neglect of my cardio has hit me hard there.

Less weights and more cardio is needed :(

Gonna do a quick leg workout today, will only have about 30 mins so will be lots of squats then some ham work and some seated calf machine thing.
Might just do 10x10 squats actually, not sure whether to do fronts or back though.
Then I need to try and walk the stairs to the 2nd floor as normal when back in the office - eek!

Yeah, I love how deep I can go with them.
As long as I have enough time to do hams as well then i'll go with fronts, if I think that I might be short on time then i'll do backs.
