You'd probably be better off just going to the gym. A massive range, and the fee isn't really that much.

Good place to start is a pair of dumbbells.... you can do a lot just using them and your body![]()
£25 on the Jungle place.
Probably looking at a few £00, basics you would need are a power rack, bench, olympic barbell and olympic weights up to at least £150kg.
When I built a little home gym it cost me about £500 for all those ^.
With that you can squat/deadlift/bench/pull up/dips/squat/squat/squat and more squats. Which is all you really need to be doing, at least when you are starting.
This is off course assuming you are not talking about just buying a few weights from Argos, which would be totally pointless![]()
People pay in excess of £30 a month on gym membership. All you need is a small section of weights and you can improvise the rest. That's paid off within 2 months of gym membership, so, yes it really is that much.

100kg isnt very much though is it, ive only been weight training 4 weeks and ive already outgrown 100kg of plates. A bench with rack is no good for safe squatting either, really need a squat rack else you'll always been holding back.
Still as a beginner I'd recommend it's better to go to a gym to get a feel for what you can do.
Just paying for some crappy home equipment can be a waste of time IMO as really it can cost £1000s to get decent stuff.
