These high quality images are quite scary. Hard to believe the people in these photos are pretty much long gone, even the kids.

Just makes you realise we only live in a snapshop of time. Just think another 100 years time and people will be probably looking back at 1080p videos of their past family members been kids. Creepy.

Those are incredible! It's awesome looking at people from the past like that...I find it kind of hard to imagine what the past was like but stuff like this just amazing, great find.

awesome

i looked at a few and thought that one i have to mention then scrolled a bit and thought no its that one and again etc in the end its like damn there all good and have something.

its like when you look at pictures of your home town in the say 1940s before the 2ww and think wooooah is that what it looked like .. even my home town when i was born looks unreal .. empty streets no cars hardly weird,......

Saw this on reddit a few days ago.. OH GOD A MOTH JUST FLEW RIGHT IN FRONT OF MY FACE. It makes me feel odd looking at colour pics.. it seems to be more real. It's like, all these people had lives, and families, now all them, and all the people they know are dead. And in hundred years, the same will be for a whole new set of people.

edit: I have a headhache because of this heat, I don't really know what I'm saying. Good night.

These pictures are awesome, but it really drives home the fact that until the industrialisation policies of the early 20th century that most of Russia was essentially stuck in the 17th century: subsistent peasant farmers and no democratic representation until token gestures in the years leading up to the revolution!

Incredible set of photos, it's hard to grasp when these were taken considering the colours and clarity etc!

Thanks op.
