I'd be up for a map reset, always wanted to see things expand from scratch espically spawn etc, like the idea of some mods. But I dont think I could stick mo creatures it adds to much to the game and they arent needed in my opinion.
 
I enjoy starting from scratch - even if it meant abandoning my tree(I have read, I know). But the mods is what would lose me - I despise having to install these half assed mods. The only four I've seen that I enjoy are Mo' Creatures, the Technic thing (industrial etc) and two others I cannot recall now.
Most mods are good or certain audiences french, you have to be aware of this. If you have a mod and a lot don't enjoy but a few vocal people do on the server then you will lose numbers, and you may not get the mods the majority enjoy - it's a very careful process.
 
gogo industrial craft! ^^ - this is the one with oil and rubber etc?

-also i would like to draw people's attention towards the hardcore test match this weekend, I'm assuming that the evening is best for most, and probably saturday? PoD, got any ideas?

I think whatever mod choices end up being there would be a client download for users - I dread to think of the hassle of everyone trying to get whatever eclectic mix of mods we end up using working on their own installs.

I can see your point /re vocal minority/etc. I have dealt with that kind of problem a lot before. To be honest I will also be giving more weight to the opinion of people that currently play a lot - players that aren't playing so much still have every right to have input but I'm more concerned with our current playerbase rather than our previous one.

VERY interested in the new mods things. Not sure if its been mentioned already, but if you get mods which are within the tekkit pack, then it 'should' be easy for people to update their clients as they could use that. That said, I am sure someone wouldn't mind creating a downloadable client with all the required stuff (I would do it if needed).

Eye's are peeled ;)

I think that tonight isn't unless we want to do it later around 930? It might take an hour or 2 depending on the map size! I'l see what I can sort out for tomorrow as it will be better then
 
We could do a preliminary test tonight for anyone who is interested (only problem is I cannot log in at present).

I think just testing the log in and just practicing how we get the game started with maybe an hour or two match tops
 
Ok - since the OcUK version was down me n Nimble did a small test on my server just to check the world size and discuss what was needed! We settled on a 1.5k diameter map for 6 -8 people.

I'l be on the server tomorrow at 8 and we'l see how many people we have on!
 
wow just seen the update vids for the current snapshot.
that is very nice ender chest would help with mining
i like a lot of what is being done with the emeralds and the villagers too
 
I'd quite like to try out the mods properly, I did try the unofficial server but it was so buggy I just got annoyed with it.

Redpower etc would definitely require a fresh server though, I don't think it'd work very well with peoples' builds all over the shop.

My worry is how easily it becomes to trade for what you want.

I could literally have 100's of diamond picks with the resources at my disposal.

It is silly to be able to get such a MASSIVE advantage with little to know exploration.
