Hi All, i have a question about my 128GB Crucial M4

I do believe that my Seq read/write speed is too low. I don't know about all other stats but I'm pretty sure about Seq read/write.

Here is a screenshot: http://i45.tinypic.com/34q5x0i.png

As you see TRIM is supported and also enabled. SSD is connected to SATA3 port and AHCI is enabled.

Could you please give any suggestions on how to improve my read and write speed?

Thank you.

That is a bit low. Have you got some heavy antivirus running, or anything else using the HD in the background like torrents, downloads etc? Also make sure you have the latest chipset drivers for your motherboard.

No, when i done the test i turned off everything, also don't have antivirus on the system at all.
Assuming this is an Intel chipset, and you've connected the drive to an Intel SATA 3 port (as you should), then try installing Intel RST.

Will do it now. Will let you know in a few minutes.

I thought "msahci" means it is on the marvell connector?

What's that? I'm new into all of this... :)

Btw, after downloading Intel drivers that Surveyor suggested here are the results: http://tinypic.com/r/1ryc14/6
Nothing much changed...i do believe that write speed is a bit higher only because i ran benchmark right after windows boot when last time i done it couple of hours after boot.

Start at the beginning.

After installing Intel RST I believe it should have changed from "msahci" to "iaStor".

Have you restarted the PC?

Are you definitely connected to an Intel SATA 3 port? They're usually white.

Which motherboard do you have?

Ok, let's start from the beginning :)

As you see in the picture it didn't change to iaStor.

Yes i did restarted the PC

Yes, it's definitely a white SATA port with a white SATA cable. So i do believe that it's a SATA 3 port, just not sure intel or w/e...

Motherboard...can't tell you atm as don't know and don't really want to restart pc to check it in BIOS. Is it important? I do know that it's Asus, but which exactly have no idea.

If you want to check that it's definitely in the right SATA port then it is important.

Download CPU-Z, run it and click on the motherboard tab.

It should tell you the model you have.

One interesting feature of your benchmark is that ir says 104448 K - OK.

I've only seen it once before where it doesn't say 1024 K - OK.

I've no idea what that means.

Ups...I miss typed in the post above...I did knew it is MSI...don't know why i wrote that it's Asus :( It's MSI H61MA-E35 (MS-7740) But it's just a temp mobo as i sent my main one for a repair which is: msi p67a-gd53 b3

Is this on a fresh windows install if you have just got a ssd?

Have you ran windows experiance index thing so it can turn on ssd stuff?

That might well explain it then.

The MSI H61MA-E35 doesn't have any Intel SATA 3 ports.

The SATA 3 ports on that motherboard are from an Asmedia® 1061 chipset which won't give you the same performance as Intel SATA 3.

Intel RST installed because the motherboard does have Intel SATA ports but only SATA 2.

As your SSD isn't connected to those it won't change from msahci to iaStor.

I suggest you wait until you get your P67 motherboard back before worrying too much about the SSD speed.

That motherboard does have Intel SATA 3 ports (also white) so you should hopefully see the full speed using one of those.

Oh...ok, Thank you for your help and information :)
