Possibly buying an apartment. Could I fit an English pool table in the living room?

I'm hopefully in the process of buying an apartment, it's a repossession so it's not final just yet. It's on the second floor and has an open plan kitchen living room. The kitchen is on the back wall and is pretty much out the way.

The dimensions are 17' 8'' x 15' 9'' (5.38m x 4.8m).

Two questions,

Could a 7ft English pool table fit nicely in the middle and have enough room for arm length without striking down at the table?
Could most English tables physically get moved into an apartment on the second floor? considering door widths etc, hoping they come apart if need be.

My initial guesstimates are yes. I'm very serious about this and don't wish to have a standard living room. Bar stools and bean bags for me.

So no TV or sofa in the living room? Where are you going to be sitting/relaxing when you're not playing pool?

He could have the TV mounted on a wall, and bar stools on the other wall, and watch TV over the pool table. If he has the table in there though he'll be stuck to using just the walls to put things around.

Clearly there will be a sofa in the kitchen? The kitchen will go in the bedroom, which leaves room for a toilet in the dining room.

Good to see the priorities are in the right order here! :D

You only have one life, the typical standard living setup is boring at the moment to me. Tv in the corner on the wall, couple of single chairs I can move out of the way and bean bags.

Where would one go about finding the maximum load weight of an apartment without causing suspicion :) Would sound proofing the floor be a possibility

Ask 3 doors down, provided the building is the same. It's also a really cool idea. I'd love a function room over a lounge

I had a pool table in my old flat albeit not a slate bed - was still 110kg though :o

Never had one noise complaint about pool - more about the subwoofer on the wooden floor ;)

With stools around the pool table, Poker nights are also a go. It has a glass door window at one end of the room, so I will definitely have to put a protection board up. Also make sure the pool break is the opposite direction.
