Hey guys,

I was looking at upgrading my monitor and I am torn between two decisions. Do I go the 120hz route with a smaller screen such as this ...

Or do I go for pure size and get a 27" like this ...

I will be buying a HIS HD 7850 2GB in the coming weeks and getting a monitor with the remaining money of which there should be around £200.

Thanks in advance :)

I got a 120Hz screen recently, and I've got to say if you're a hefty gamer, go for it. 3D doesn't matter to me that much, but the smaller size of the screen means the picture will be sharper, and slightly less needing of AA at the same distance; and also, the REAL benefit I've felt beyond the screen being that bit smoother, is that I no longer feel the need for Vsync.

At 120Hz, the usual tearing you tend to see on 60Hz vysnc off is MASSIVELY reduced, to the point its barely if ever noticeable, so you don't have to put up with the negatives of vsync, but the screen is still virtually tear free.

I'd never give up my 27" monitor now that I have got used to the resolution. Personally as someone who uses their computer for more than just gaming I find the extra space invaluable.
