Hello OCUK!,

This is a bit of a 'cheeky' first post - but I do hope to become a semi-active member of the community here over time, so hopefully I will be forgiven, ha.

I realise this is in the wrong section - there was not really a suitable computing section, and this sub-forum seems quite populated, so I thought I would try my luck here. However, if a mod feel it necessary to move the thread, please do so.

I am doing a project for University on how programming was/is being taught in schools. As the project is mostly written content, I am required to do a survey as well.

There are eleven questions - all are optional (two more so than the others). The two 'optional' optional questions are a bit 'wordy', although, I am slightly hoping they will garner the most attention, if you will.

You can leave a short comment after most of the questions - this is completely optional. Some comments may be quoted in my project - as this is an anonymous survey, you are obviously anonymous, heh.

I would be beyond grateful to anyone on here who was taught/is being taught programming in school to complete as much, or indeed as little of the survey as they wish. It will go a long way to helping me with my project.

If you have friends who did/do programming at school, please consider passing it onto them - the more responses the better.

Thanks again,

A.

Done.
I'm slightly confused by the last question (programming test), are there not 2 possible answers?

edit: wait, was it possible to select both? i cant go back now :( Fail

Thanks very much for your time guys - it is highly appreciated. I do indeed intend to stick around. For the last question, there is only one option - it is not multiple choice. ha - just seen that my user label is thug - good stuff!

Done, programming is quite important to me in that I am proud to be able to pull it out of my array of tools in many situations. Even if I am not a master of any language.

I spent a bit of time filling in some of the comments sections.

That's quite nice to read - somewhat of an inspiration, if you will. As is everyone elses, your time is very much appreciated by me. Thanks for those who have completed the survey so far!

You could, should you wish, perform iteration through use of a loop. Depends on how you want to define it and how you are applying it.

I know.

Iteration is looping but looping isn't always iteration. The example was a loop, not iteration.
