This is my life at the moment. On the phone to VM at the moment to open a can.

My problem is with netflix, after about 2 episodes of 24 it just dies. Rebooting the Superhub (running in modem mode with an airport extreme (Time Capsule) router sorts it.

Paying for 100Mbit, get 60 on a good day, 30 usually, LESS THAN 1 regularly :(

+1 Im in the same boat! I pay for 100 MB and get less than half on a good day.

I think the issue is the oversubscribbed service, thats what an engineer said to me!

No such thing as oversubscribed - that's just spin to make it look like it's not "their" fault - they're just "too popular".

They know what demand they're getting and should plan capacity to cover this- it's basic network 101 that serious IT companies do all the time. The fact that they have issues even with STM in place controlling demand at peak times points to underinvestment in both infrastructure and customer service in order to boost profits.

Exactly this. No or very little money was invested until 2010 which the company has since invested in excess of £250m.

The reason? Freeloaders. Noboby was paying for TV and hardly anyone paying for broadband with all the dodgy boxes and modems. I bet none of you complained about the service then :)

ok new tactic.

I called cancellations in the UK and had a moan. Constructive, but a moan.

They agreed that it was unacceptable the problems I'd had, including last nights comedy of errors, and offered to put me through to the UK techs.... hurrah!

Spoke to an incredibly helpful bloke who went through loads of things and actually didn't insult me with 'have you tried rebooting the modem'.

He's given me half price broadband from when I became a virgin customer at this property as compensation, and has booked in a principal technical to come and look at the problem first hand. He's keen to get this fixed, and if not we can then discuss the other options.

So, a note to you all. 'Play the game' with overseas call centre a few times, and then just get through to the UK through cancellations. Brilliant.

Fingers crossed the guy coming on Monday can do the business !

Have just been upgraded from 20meg to 60meg and received the Super HUB, whilst im please with the download speeds the upload speed is worst than when i was on the 20meg service...

Any ideas why??

Well after being fobbed off by UK staff I was on the best package of £44 per month for 50meg and phone line I spoke to a helpful lady in india who upgraded me to 100meg and reduced my price to £39 per month.

A happy tale the other way round.

Make sure you check your next couple of bills.
They put me on a package, even sent out the quote, and then didn't honour it.
Currently in the process of leaving them.
