They are scum, as soon as our local Focus diy store closed down they filled the car park and moved into the building.

Pickpockets, yes. Muggings, no more than anywhere else.

Been there for two extended holidays so far, quite obviously tourists and never had a problem. Even rode the most infamous tram for forcible pickpocketing (ie. gangs will crowd you and literally rifle your pockets while bystanders do nothing) and never had a problem.

Like anywhere else in the world, you just need to be mindful of your surroundings and comfortable.

+1 I'm not a fan of any1 who plays a card but people who have nowt better to do than play someone else's cars get right up my nose
 
Has anybody here had a good experience with a *****? I can list 10-15 bad experiences myself, including the massive highlight of being stabbed - but I've never known anybody to say a single good word about any of them?
 
The worst ones are the cheeky ******* that drive up and down the back alley in a van looking into everyones gardens and taking stuff they can sell for scrap.

Just because its in my yard doesn't mean I want some ***** to come in and steal it.
 
The thing that seems to annoy most people is that the law seems powerless and the government weak in the face of this section of the populace. It's inevitable that some people will always turn to crime, but for this group it appears as though they regularly get away with it and that they are a law unto themselves.
 
We had the same thing a few years back at our business park -

Meh, I'd what you would consider a "lefty" but the children should be taken into care - after a few generations they would disappear (as the culture would die out).

Poor education & isolated social groups are breeding grounds for crime, abuse & anti-social behaviour.

I'd defend a bunch of hippies who want to live in the forest (& not disturb people, damage the property of or trash the area) - but these are people who take the benefits of society - but rarely give anything back.

I really hope this kind of comment is a joke (as it's been repeated a few times) - you do recall certain groups in history doing just this? - also the fire-bomb comments - seriously grow up.

It's the complete lack of respect for anyone or anything that angers me. They truly are the definition of scum.
