Had the car over a week now and for the money I paid what a fantastic motor
It needs a few little jobs doing on it such as a new front windscreen due to a crack, it just passed an MOT so it should be ok but I don't feel comfortable having a crack according to Autoglass it is too big to fill in. All 4 tyres need replacing with a decent set of alloys, they are all missmatched and the Alloys have seen much better days. Plus a dent above the front arch.
Shouldn't cost too much to sort out and I reckon the car would be worth more when I come to sell.
Inside is a nice place to be with full heated leather seats and very comfy bucket style seats. Everything works inside and for an old car it has a few cool toys, AC, Trip computer, Sunroof, CD + 6 CD Changer in the boot, ABS, Traction Controll etc...
The enigne makes a fantastic noise, the 2.5 V6 is a joy to listen to with the window down, I have never owned anything over 2.0 so it's new to me! It has some pace when going 0-60 in around 8s is not bad but once in gear you can feel the engine pull very nicely.
Fuel wise it is not that good tbh, but what do you expect from a 12 year old V6, I think I may buy some engine and injector cleaner to see if I can improve it a bit, currently avg 25.1MPG it can get to 30MPG but most of the time it is around 25 or below.
For a 12 year old Ford for £570 the Cougar is a fantastic bargain
