JReport

Is anyone aware of a tool similar to JReport (basically I'm looking to analyse and visualise data from a MS MySql Server database) but a lot cheaper (JReport quoted me their most basic package at 17 grand!).

Maybe use Excel and connect it to your database? I've not done that myself yet but I don't think it's too hard.

I was looking for something slightly more advanced than Excel. This is a work-related query and it doesn't seem appropriate to post it here. What do you reckon Mods? Can anyone point me in the direction of a more suitable (and decent) IT forum?
