Do you game more or less when you become a parent?

My SWTOR sub costs me about £20 / hour

ouch :o:D

I know the feeling.

What about the need to upgrade now you're older...has the e-peen "I've got a new" urge to brag left you as well? It has for me....I chuckle when I see threads like

"I'm only getting 60 frames in Battlefield....I need another GTX680 to go SLI and make it worth my while gaming"

It's that sort of attitude that Nvidia and AMD love as it means they can keep prices high as young people will buy.

A lot less, it's pretty much a case of get home from work, cook dinner, look after baby, go to bed. My only gaming time is weekends in the morning when I get up with him to give mum a lie-in and the little one decides to go back to sleep for a bit, then I get in an hour or so. Most of the rest of the time, the girlfriend claims the TV anyway XD

Last PC pre-children: tri-sli and water cooled, this one air and a 6950!

If I need to brag about my peen I stick with the real deal, since if I even look at my wife funny, she's up the duff.

if I do go on the PS3 the daughter will be there sat next to me watching, and holding a pad to think she's playing
Ha! My 3 year old daughter does the same thing :)

I let her have a go at Trials Evolution and she loved it. So much so that now every time she sees the controller she asks to have another go.

i have a one and half year old now but i dont switch a console on until he's in bed, previously i would sit there from 5pm most nights. I have a few friends on xbox who sit there with kids roaming and going crazy, to me i think it's wrong to show a kid thats the way life is dont.

I may have a quick go on the pc but nothing which requires a lot of attention.

almost no time for gaming...irony is when I had loads of time for gaming I had mediocre hardware, now I don't have time but my PC is really good for gaming...<sigh>

I game less but not by much ;-) http://battlelog.battlefield.com/bf3/soldier/amigafan2003/stats/352272176/

Whereas I'd get in from work I'd pretty much fire a game up straight away now I don't log on until 19:00/19:30 when the kids have gone to be.

Sat/Sun afternoon gaming is what I miss most though - I still get to do it occassionally but in between F1 and entertaining the kids, gaming on a Sat/Sun afternoon is a rare treat.

On the flip side - I had some epic session when feeding them at 3am when they were babies ;-)

Looking forward to when they get older and can join me in some multiplayer games and/or a nice kid freindly MMO :-)

As far as upgrading goes - I've never really upgraded for games - I upgrade because I like tech and building new systems - it's a hobby in itself :-)

Less, but oddly I enjoy it more. It's through choice though as I really enjoy playing with my daughter now she's almost 2, she's tons of fun!

My daughter is in bed at 7pm though so it's not like I have vastly less time that I could be spending on the PC during the week, when in the past I'd normally only be sitting down at the PC around then anyway. I think gaming for me filled a gap when I'd run out of books to read or money to spend on going out, now I've got a daughter I'd rather spend time with her than take gaming too seriously.

We're coping so far :) the older one seems to like the new arrival which helps a lot. Some sleep would be nice at some point though!

When I was around 8-10 I would play half-life with my dad. He'd do the shooting and I'd change weapons with the numbers as he shouted which one he needed. :p

When I'm at home I game quite a lot whether it's Fifa 12, BF 3 or the odd WoW login.

I probably game pretty much the same now at 28 with 2 kids, as I did at 18 when I was free of any ties. There's always time to game! :p

Definitely less in the first few years. However my son who is 5 loves watching me play World of Tanks and it has gave him a real interest in tanks. I'd much rather he was out playing on his bike or in the garden but when the weathers a bit rubbish we sit down and play a few games. He likes playing Quakelive offline and you can dumb the opponents down so he can hold his own and not get whooped.

Don't have the time for the likes of Eve that I would have spent a few hours in one sitting but I'm just not into games the way I was a few years back anyway.

only really time for gaming is after the kids go to bed around 7/8pm then its a few hours chilled either on the ps3/pc then nap time then rerun either working or watching the kids way things work is missus works 3 days i work 3 days both doing 12hour shifts so pretty good balance :)
