I have been asked to build a pc for a relative with a maximum budget of £1200. This machine will NOT be for gaming, it will be general use such as office applications, music, webbrowsing and possible some image and video editing, and she wants it to be as fast as possible for as long as possible. I will not be overclocking this either as I would rather not risk problems in the future with it. I know this probably seems like an overkill but this is what I have so far:

Any obvious changes you would make? I'm not worried about making it cost less, it just needs to be the absolute best possible for under £1200.

Does the hard drive need to be really quick? A 2TB green drive would be fine for songs/movies.

And maybe use the SSD as a temp store for when she wants to edit video.

It'll work for sure. I'd balance the budget in other ways, personally.
Such as?

I can probably find a suitable cheaper PSU, i just chose the Corsair for now as i know they are reliable and wanted something modular!

Yes, I will definately do that, as i also need to fit a copy of windows 7 in the budget which i forgot!

Anything else worth changing which will actually bring an improvement and not just a cost saving?
