Favourite Bond film?

Top 3:

Casino Royale -Made James Bond human and grounded in a real world, with a relatively realistic enemy which in some form exist today. Plus the acting, the changes to familiar characters, the set pieces, the action, soundtrack, everything was top tier film making. It's only downfall, for some reason it turned into a Poker tutorial with the narrator Mathis 'Bond will have to call all in to call his bluff.'

Golden Eye - Gritty, bold, Russians, Sean Bean, the best opening sequence of a bond film for me. Spawned Goldeneye 64...

Live and Let Die - First bond I recall watching as a kid.

It's so hard to pick, since it was this era I grew up in, I will always favour any bond film with Pierce Brosnan.

I think Sean Connery, Roger Moore etc was a little before my time. - Anyway the best for me are Tomorrow Never Dies, Goldeneye and The Spy who Loved Me (because of the fish car).

And that reason alone is why that's my Top. Fav's include Dr No for spawning Bond to us in the first place, and of course... Ursula Andress walking out the water, still something to remember ;)

Agree is a way, I think those that leave an impact are the best ones.

For instance, had GoldenEye not been made, my childhood gaming addiction would have only been limited to Diddy Kong Racing rather than GoldenEye as well.... Let's not forget, thanks to GoldenEye 64, we had Perfect Dark...

All Hail Martin Campbell (Also directed Casino Royale)

Goldeneye.

Amazing how many like Casino Royale, for me it's got one good chase scene and a pretty nerve-racking torture scene, but that's about it. The rest is just sat around a sodding casino table. I actually prefer QoS - the plot may be incoherent but at least stuff happens.

Goldeneye
Tomorrow Never Dies

The rest of Brosnans are paff.

Havent watched any pre Brosnan all the way through in one sitting.

Danny Craig isn't too bad but I don't see him as a "Bond" so it's off putting.

In order of preference.

From Russia with Love
Goldfinger
Live and Let Die
Man with the Golden Gun
Casino Royale
Goldeneye
Dr No.
For Your Eyes Only
The Spy Who Loved Me

I wouldn't watch any of the others if they were on the telly.

My favourite is Goldeneye, honorable mention to Spy who loved me and You only live twice for this fight scene

This is one of those (many) threads where all posters should put their age as well as the answer. Because I'm going to bet that most of the people going for recent Bond are all early twenties at best. As an old man, who saw most of them when they were new, I say:

Goldfinger.

The first "true" bond film, and the template for all others. Pretty much all of the remaining ones are the same plot recycled.

The Living Daylights :p

Having said that I've still not got round to watching the other Dalton Bond film, I know its on the telly whenever ITV decides to rerun them all, but I'm either on here or at work or I forget its on.

whenever ITV decides to rerun them all

Its all exclusive to Sky Movies now im afriad. :(

Goldeneye for me, oh and tomorrow never dies has aged well I think. I remember seeing it on release and thinking it was naff but saw it recently and its actually a good film all apart from the post credit beginning.

Dr No for me.... there's something about the feel and atmosphere of that film that just feels better than the rest.

I am a huge Bond fan however.... I can watch all of them over and over and not get bored.

The Dalton movies have always been underated.... !
