iRacing

I spy someone else that's been testing for iRacing this weekend. It is great isn't it - especially on Oulton Park. It's on my list as well.

Sure did, bloody brilliant round there. Managed 1:06.7 on the historical layout. Didnt race it just did some laps with a friend. About 3-4 hrs worth of lapping the different layouts. Enough for me to get an addiction. Its a beast that will get a lot of love from me. Cant wait to own it.:p

Id go as far as saying the best sim car Ive ever driven

Really should try the Lotus 79 again, did it a bit in the first season and it was great fun to drive, really hard to be quick in as you just need to have faith in the downforce, and the difference between 100% and not-quite-confident in it is huge due to the ground effect, but since then it's had the NTM as well as a ride height limit change iirc so could be good :)

Lotus 49 will be epic, coming from GPL especially, the only downside is it isn't the Eagle-Weslake, or the Ferrari with that epic engine note...

Gravey is more interested in some boring fwd thing, odd bloke :p

In other news, internets enabled in my new house \o/

josh my boy, glad to see you back..

lotus 79 aint had the NTM yet has it???

the 49 doesnt appeal to me just way before my time, wish they would do 1 of sennas mclarens the mp4/5 or 4/6 i would be all over that...

hell yeah cant wait for the BTCC civic, i do love the BTCC racing not watched it for years but right back into watching it now great racing, plus with getting snetterton, croft, thruxton, modlley park and donnington were gunna have a proper BTCC series..

in other news my csp's brake is goosed sent a email to support, so got my g27 pedals back today gunna take me a little while to re adjust to them tho...

I'm now the proud Owner of a 1979 Lotus F1 car In British Racing Green.

Dieing to do more laps in it but the birds are signing and I cant keep my eyes open any longer. I'm going to bed with a smile the size of a rainbow. Silverstone Historical sure is fun in such a great Car!

Radical at Suzuka week also been waiting for this track for weeks, don't think I care about it anymore, Bring on more laps in the Lotus.

Hmm, for some reason I thought it had the NTM but think you guy's are right, obviously spent too long without internet access and went a bit crazy :p

I think it's great we're getting more UK tracks, and iirc a rescan of silverstone for the new layout as well? Shame we're not getting Cadwell, even though it's not really suitable for car racing imo it would still be great fun to test on :)

Be interesting to actually see what the new Snetterton layouts are like tbh, not raced the bike in a while due to money and had gotten to the point of avoiding snetterton anyway (210 miles for the old layout which sucks on a 400 is a waste of time and money :p) so not actually ridden the new layout.

Thruxton is the standout one for me though, that was far more fun on the bike than I expected and I can imagine some great races in the car, just because it's such a simple track with very fast sections into two decent braking zones :)

yeah thruxton is the 1 for me aswell, tho i do like donnigton a lot..

i do agree tho cadwell would be good but its just too narrow for cars...

rockingham i would have liked instead of modlley...

Skill good call great minds must think alike, I was gutted when Cadwell wasn't on the list such a brilliant layout.

Would be awesome to take a few of the cars around.

i dont ****** believe this my csp's brake is goosed so ive set my g27 pedals back up and now the throttle is sticking on abit, i cant win ffs...damn it...

Thats what you get for not selling me the bodnar cable, the Iracing gods are sending you karma.

On a serious note open them up thats what mine did/still slightly do since they lost a fight with a can of beer. (not as spiky now I gave them a clean)

When I looked inside mine the amount of **** in there no wonder they was a bit sticky, may be worth quickly opening them up cleaning them and resintalling the software. make sure you have the profiler loaded to my wheel and pedals acts really funny without that loaded, as I've found out a few times.

couple of other things to try also re calibrate after deleting teh .ini file. Calibrate without the bodnar cable as it adds extra area. do all this with fresh drivers and fresh .ini.

check calibration in both logitech and windows before bringing Iracing into the equation

id try that before taking then apart.

Really enjoyed tonights driving school first proper one Ive managed to sit down do some laps and watch the walk thru, picked up some great advice from watching Paul and Stuart.

After the wal thru I went and put some laps in Managed a 1.57.4** compared to our very own Skill who is a beast I'm only .4 off your time of 57 dead over a 2 minute lap every other week you have at least a second on me over what is normally a 1 minute lap. So I improved by about 1000% over my usual pace.
as this laps twice as long.

Glad I listened to you now G that 8-10 hours ive put into the track over the last 2 weeks as really payed off.

Next season I must practice the tracks instead of just turning up to race.

I even beat Paul *even though he only got 6 laps or so laps*still never been close to beating him before :D:D:D
