Totally trying to get me to buy their products! :p

dont see why you would buy amd(ati) anyway....

from **** drivers > decent drivers > good drivers > **** drivers
in the space of 10 years
......

clearly on a downward spiral again

there's nothing wrong with any game out of the 200 games I own with amds 7970 12.4 drivers officially released. The betas are sometimes a bit strange in 2d mode but official releases been fine.

Ive had no problem with ATI drivers either, there was one time i had Beta drivers installed and my GPU fan went max speed for no apparent reason and my pc froze, i had to hard reset, reverted to official drivers and never had a problem since. I really don't get what the problem is, i remember buying RAGE which had loads of problems and ATI released performance drivers within a day, so they aint **** imo.

Only issue I've had with ATI drivers are for Skyrim, but that turned out to be on Bethesda's end anyway, and despite that ATI even managed to improve performance, they are going backwards as far as CPU's go, but GPU's they are slowly taking over.

I've got an AMD card in my HTPC and with the latest drivers the sound stops working through HDMI if you leave the PC on. I had to go back to older drivers to stop it happening.

Yeah I had that issue, simple way around it is uninstalling all sound drivers in safe mode, cleaning registry and rebooting back into normal mode. Then you let Windows automatically reinstall its own HD Audio Device, then restart again. Then when you boot back up you'll have sound, and no AMD/Realtek drivers to conflict and decide to turn your sound off.

In before lock on the basis this will turn into another retarded AMD vs nVidia thread.

After the ATi 4*** series horrendous drivers i went off of them, but i'm thinking of getting a HD7970 if i'm upgrading soon as they seem to be damn good for the money compared to the GTX680.

I have to agree like probably everyone on this forum, i just wish i didn't go for a budget build for my PC last year and went for the Sandy bridge, My 955BE will hold out until haswell though. From now on my CPU will be intel and GPU whatever i think is good enough for my money.

The 7970 is the best 3GB GPU, people don't realise ATI have the best cards, it's just that the majority of games are built for Nvidia and as such, run poorly on ATI GPU's.

My CPU will always be whatever is best for my money.

Lets face it, there is absolutely no difference between AMD and Intel CPUs (except of course, with regards to speed, currently). It's not like you can complain that your CPU has bad drivers or anything. AMD aren't competitive at the moment and that is unfortunate as it could lead to inflated prices but hey.

I've got an AMD card because it was the best value for the money I wanted to spend at the time. Never had a problem with it. Never had a real problem with Nvidia either.

Edit: Also the idea of games being "built" for Nvidia is absurd. According to steam stats, 35.77% of cards are AMD vs 47.93% Nvidia. If I were making a game, I definitely wouldn't be keen on ruining performance for 35% of my audience. I might be wrong but at least thats what I would think. I don't think developers outright ignore AMD just because they have the Nvidia logo.

Edit again: To stop people who are clearly unable to read quoting my post, I have made a few changes. My post was poorly worded, perhaps, but I appreciate it when people read things properly first. I've now made, too, further edits in italic because my post was poorly worded and clearly needed clarification for some people.

Really? have you seen any benchmarks for the CPU's? and AMD brought out Bulldozer which is a total fail, They arent as good as the generation down from them and they use way too much power. Telling me Intel offers no difference? they are monstrous compared to AMD in terms of performance.

Nah, Intel do have better CPU's, the i5 is head and shoulders better than everything else at the minute for gaming, then its the i7, then probably the phenom or something, all I know is the FX-4100 lines pretty bad for gaming.

Never really had a problem with ATI drivers.

Same, just a small issue that took me a month to figure out cause I'm thick. :D
