around 30 all cores Idle, 58 max at 4.5. Under water. Thats general use though dunno what its like under prime ibt etc prob double the temps lol.

I was going to remount and apply mx-2 to compare against noctua nth1, and when I had everything apart, decided I would have a look at flipping the lid.

Thought I would get an idea on how hard it would be, but the lid is down pretty tight, and was absolutely sure I would either do damage to myself or the chip, so decided I am not going to go down that route.

Am quite happy to run the chip hot. If it dies in 3 years, I will get it replaced.

104.9 degrees for you sir? ;)

thats cool thats what im getting with the stock cooler :) i was a little worried they were too high and i would have to reseat it, im waiting till my prodigy case arrives to put on my h80, hopefully temps will be better :)

I idle at about 35-45C currently (my computers in the kitchen and its quite hot here at the moment) My heatsink is seated correctly I've reseated it twice. But I'll reseat it again at the weekend just for the hell of it.

I see what all the whohar is about with the temps, i have windows open, stock cooler just doing a virus scan and im hitting 67c at stock speeds lol ! i cant wait to get my H80 on

Just noticed something weird/interesting guys. Playing around in the BIOS, as one does to stay happy. Set iGPU max clock to minimum (1150 I think) and iGPU voltage to minimum as well, instead of both settings being 'Automatic'. Despite having a dedicated GPU and default display driver set to PCIe, I've noticed a temperature drop of around 6'C on full load (I fold 24/7).
Using a z77 Sabertooth. Just wondering, if anyone else has the same board/BIOS, how does one go about turning off the iGPU, if that's possible at all? Looked everywhere for it.

That's a point... have had it enabled for a little while now on mine.

Can't remember the exact way to disable it from memory. Will look it up for you when get home - unless someone else tells you how before then.

Do wonder how it affects overall OCing of chip...

Just wondering if I even need it enabled at all. I have SLI, so will not use Lucid MVP for gaming. Though I have no software that supports quicksync, would be nice to be able to use it should I get such software.

Posted in cinebench thread, but thought would throw it here too - finally got to 10 pts. Don't know why I wanted to hit that, but finally did :D

And it looks like it took as far as I can push my chip while keeping under 100C, which is 4.925GHz with 1.29V/1.3V. Looks like will be peaking around 95C on small FFT's.

Can post some temp/cpu-z/prime screenies some other time, for now -

So whats the best perfomance and heat ratio for 3570k chip maybe at around 4.3ghz? :)

Got mine locked down at 4.2 with 0.02 volts above stock. It was able to get 4.2 with stock but was slightly unstable (no crashes). Anything higher just needs more voltage for me, and then the temps really do start to spike. Seeing as it's quite toasty in my room during the summer, 4.2 is more than enough for me (even tho I have a triple radiator push/pull setup).
Besides, an extra .4 GHz is not really going to give a massive performance gain, it's just going to give a massive temperature gain.

So yeah, around the 4.0 - 4.3 region is the safest bet IMO.

how much warranty is there for ib i5 3570k?is it three or one year.
if ** Do not mention competitors ** gives one year for all theirs electronics so later you've got 2 more with intel?
