I will be sticking with windows 7, but i would love a crystal ball to see if MS go back to the more traditional ui for windows 9 or if the metro style is here to stay; I suppose a lot depends on how successful win 8 is ..?
hmm lets see
Win 2000 = ok
Win Me = poop
Win Xp = ok
Vista = poop
Win 7 = ok
Win 8 = ?
I think I will skip this one if the pattern holds true
Glaucus I think you are the biggest fanboi on the whole of OcUk![]()
Vista - hated by those due to companies not making drivers, after 12 months and companies got drivers out, compatible software it was an extremely good Os and far better than XP
As unpopular an opinion it may be, I agree with Glaucus. I held onto Windows XP for as long as I could, but when I was finally forced to move to Vista by Microsoft (they made one of their remote management tools Vista only) it didn't take long to realise that Vista was better. It's my honest opinion that most of the issues people had were caused by outdated hardware. When Vista came out, the overwhelming majority of home PC were single core and less than 2GB RAM. That was fine for XP (which was already 5 years old at the time), but not enough for Vista. By the time Windows 7 came out, even the cheapest landfill available on the high street had a dual core processor and 3GB+ of RAM, so when people finally upgraded they were making a massive step up.Vista - hated by those due to companies not making drivers, after 12 months and companies got drivers out, compatible software it was an extremely good Os and far better than XP
