Technically, Paramount stole the idea any ways, hence why DS9 was even made, even the fact that Strazynski ( sp) wanted a "shape shifting" security guard in his original script that he pitched to Paramount about a year before getting a deal with ( Warner Bros I think), but was cut from B5 to save money, so much better they went with Garbaldi any ways.
Ive been nerdy as mad over the Whole B5 thing, some of the stuff used for its time was a HUGE leap for tv, filming in widescreen ( note some scene where two characters stand very close to each other as nearly all screen then where 4.3. Keep stock backgrounds because Strazynski figured CGi would become so cheap they could fill in backgrounds more easily. The list goes on and on.
Just dont talk to much about Season 5.
