*** The Official Google Nexus 7 Thread ***

So initial impressions are good. Screen is really nice but I've been slightly spoiled by the gorgeous screen on the One X.

It's fast, plays games well etc. Any questions or experiments do ask.

Surprisingly good, no working iPlayer yet though..

A little worried about the whole flash thing, been lucky with the PLaybook that it plays all YT and iPlayer back with nor problems as though it was the desktop.
So im not so sure now.

Anyone got it reading off external storage yet ? It would appear Google aren't keen on local storage to push cloud storage.

From what I read you need to root and install stickmount, will then work with an OTG cable to read EXT formats and FAT32.

I'm thinking of using this whilst out with my camera, so would need to go CF card -> card reader -> OTG cable -> tablet.

7" is perfect for this because a 10" tablet is a bit big to get in my walkabout bag.

I was reading a post from Romain Guy (works for google, keen photographer) and he's already had DSLR Controller working on a (presumably unrooted) tablet.

Apart from OTG its also a bit bonkers that at google i/o they demo'd the tablet with MHL or HDMI out and now they've cut it from the production box. I wonder if thats a software thing too...

I've got one of these and the flash thing is worrying me too.... Adobe dropping support will kill it off soon enough hopefully.

Is it possible to side load flash and use another browser to watch iPlayer and view all the videos on the BBC website?

It should be possible by using another browser to view the desktop site....
