If anyone has owned this case I would really like you assistance! :)

I am in the middle / end of putting together my new PC, yaaaaay! :)

However I have come to Pg 14/15 of the manual and it is asking me to do stuff about cables. Note I am useless with cables! :(

Power button cable. A random cable image with no meaningful names of the cables used :??

And so on and so forth.

The power switch comes disconnected. you have to take the front panel off. you will see the green and black wires need joining.

You have a number of cables that need plugging into the mobo. PWR, HDD,RESET etc etc the mobo manual will show you where they go on the mobo.

The fan controller wont work unless you plug in a molex connector from the PSU to it. I moved the fans on my case. The non blue fan is at the front (i also cut the mesh away behind the dust filter), 2 LED fans on top of the case and one at the rear.

Cheers for that hono :)

Ok I have plugged the reset one into the mobo I think? CRL_CMOS? The motherboard diagram is clear but lacks detail.

Everything else is online now apart from the controller and power button.

I found the power cable but I dont know where to plug that into.
Found 3 LED cables but again dont know where they plug into..
And ive got a 2 cables which have the same bit as the rear fan does. Again (guess what) im unsure on where to plug these in.

No CLR_CMOS should have a jumper on the pins, not the chassis cables.....take it off!

AndyMK3s Z9 case log

THis thread has pics showing how to tidy the cables up behind the mobo. You can see the fans are plugged into the fan controller, the exhaust fan is plugged into the block too. He will be running the last fan off the mobo fan header.

Hope that helps

Ok big idiot mistake, ive removed the cable. What type of cable is a jumper?
Power cable for the switch has been (inserted?)

:) Fans are online.

Now just unsure where to plug LED's into, they are for the HDD and power switch. Same place as the power switch I guess???

EDIT: Cheers for the link, im ashamed by my amock of cables lol.

A jumper is a lil plastic clip to bridge the pins. CLR CMOS has 3 pins, you move the jumper across to bridge the other pin to do the CMOS reset. It's in the manual bud you just need to take your time......silly mistakes can lead to things going POP!

Hmmmm swear I read the whole manual :S I'll go through it again. Trust me im taking my time, been working since 10.

Argh! Missed out two whole pages! They contained all the rest of the information, silly me :p

The mobo manual dude!

The PWR,rest,HDD etc all live next to eachother on the mobo. If you look closely it' actually printed on the mobo in a small font ;)

To get the cables tidy you need to snip the zip strap holding them together. Then you can rearrange them together how you want and tie them off, when you are happy.

You have an extension for the p4/8. You can see it in the pics on that thread. It's the cable at the far right, you can see one of the clear fan cables is tied to it.

If you follow the clear cable that shows you the connector for the fan controller, there is another one so it can control two fans. The black cable in the top right is the non LED fan (i moved this to the front), it uses molex for power. Follow the black cable and you will see the molex connectors daisy chained together. You must have a molex from your PSU plugged in here for the fan controller and temp display to work!

We keep missing anothers edits lol.
Ok everything is plugged in and working (hurrah!)

Now to get the BIOS sorted, load drivers and install OS from USB stick.

You took the time to do it mate.....i'm happy to link it. Was nice to see the case evolve over time.....thread definately helped me choose the case.

The case has it's quirks but a lot to like for the price. I cut the PSU vent out aswell on mine and used a magnetic filter to cover it. Eventually like you, i added a bigger fan at the front and used the molex fan at the bottom of the case......I really want to get rid of the mesh on the side panel but just cant be arsed to do a window lol

Thanks! It's far from perfect, but it's absolutely the best budget case money can buy IMO! I'm not really bothered about the side fans, I get plenty of airflow from the rest :)

Anyone know how to put the sides back on? xD

They're a bit fiddly, best to lay the case on it's side :)

Off topic but didnt want to create another thread.

The next step of the process requires me to use the monitor right?
Ive plugged the monitor into the power, works. However I have connected it to motherboard via VGA socket using a VGA cable.

No pciture comes up and monitor is on standby. The monitor is:
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MO-062-AC&groupid=17&catid=949&subcat=

If I press Auto it allows me to choose DVI or D-SUB. Since its not a DVI cable im using a choose D-SUB. But it always says "no signal" and then goes into stanby.

Ive put the CD that contains drivers and onboard manual into the pc but again nothing happens on the screen.

Can anyone help me??

Tell us what you bought. The last spec i saw of yours didn't have the Z9 case :/

Did you plug in the aux power to the mobo?
Is there a GPU installed?

You need to help us, help you ;)

To answer the questions first:

Yes I plugged the aux power into the mobo, it was a 4 pin rather than an 8 pin so i assume that is normal though?

Yes the MSI OC 6850.

Now I tried the HDMI connection on the 6850 on my TV and signal comes through from the PC.

But when I use the mobo's VGA connection on either the monitor or the TV nothing comes through.

BTW monitor supports HDMI and DVI.
TV supports HDMI and VGA.
GPU supports HDMI and DVI.
And mobo does all above.

The only problem is I do not have a DVI cable yet.
