However i've not seen another deal say that, so is it standard if you own a game you get a gift code to give someone? or do they just ignore the fact you have them :P

Only Valve packs will give you codes to gift if you already own part of the pack - means sometimes you have to weigh up whether its worth purchasing with gaining no bonus for the part of the pack you already own.

Ah thanks, was looking at the crysis collection

£7.50 for 1 or £10 for 3 but already got the 2 so may as well stick with single then :P
