Firefox 14

Wait till you see firefox when australis hits! :D :p

Yea it looks like chrome, but it is nice.

Notice the Back button is how it was in Version 13!

Much better!

Apparently 15 will be a superb for developers with a new JS debugging thing. Ion Monkey might hit by the end of the year too. Oh, is this the version with a built in .pdf reader?

Can't see any difference right now, looks exactly the same. I have the menu toolbar enabled, so the back/forward buttons change is no issue for me.

I moved over to Chrome as the YouTube type issues were too problematic for me but left version 13 installed.
Version 13 of FF has updated for me to 14 and disabled all my plugins, but I updated and enabled them, and the Youtube issue is still there.

I used to be very pro-Firefox. Somewhere down the line, the Nigthlies became less stable or exciting, performance has suffered with multiple tabs open, new features were not as useful as I though and Chrome has caught up to the point that it feels like a safer and faster browser, with enough addons to suit my needs.

Short story is, I've moved completely to Chrome this week, previously testing SR Ironware.

Has the smooth scrolling been fixed yet,, cos they buggered it up in 13?

The sluggish feel of it? It's there to stay. But I found this fix when I was fiddling with Firefox's settings without the need of addons when they changed the scrolling algorithm in 13.

1) Go into about:config
2) Search "smoothscroll"
3) Change general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMaxMS from 400 to 150, and general.smoothScroll.mouseWheel.durationMinMS from 200 to 75

Then you get the old 12 and before scrolling back :).

I use "yet another smooth scrolling" plugin but on 13 it didnt work, so went back to 12

Should give my method a go then. All it does is speeds up the default Firefox smoothscroll algorithm back to the old speed.

Click me for image (the image ends up too small so hence the clicky).

Firefox can be changed very easily so as the tabs are on the bottom and you can have all the old buttons back again.

15 beta is up on the ftp, has the built in .pdf reader at least.

I never run release versions of Firefox these days, the beta version is stable enough and you get to be at least 1 version ahead of release.
