London

Yes because anywhere outside London is "the countryside". This is one thing that does annoy me about some Londoners and I see it from a few of my friend's friends when I go up there, it reminds me of the insular American ignorance of not knowing what it's actually like outside their country and making silly assumptions that the rest of the UK is like Midsommer.

Tell me one other place in the UK that I can go out on the Friday night, find a rave, and not come back till Sunday evening after partying at various places without stopping. I bet you can't.

There is so much to do in London. I'd honestly be bored living anywhere else.

You can say the same about any place when being a student. A lot to learn young one, and there are many places that make London pale into insignificance.

I would rather be a Nomads than live and work in London, what a sorry excuse for life.

Sums up that Rausing guy living in a £50 million house and his wife was dead for 3 weeks and he just put a load of clothes over her body, London = no better than the plague days, but hey people have to feel happy while they are crying inside!

Says someone that comes from Wigan. Almost LOL worthy. I would probably be correct in assuming that's one of the many arse-ends on England.

I think all Londoners would be crying inside if having the waste their lives in small dump of a town nobody heard/care about. A town such as Wigan.

I'm not really up for bashing Wigan but how blinkered can you be to think that what happens in London isn't repeated around the country constantly.

Don't know what the 'talent' is like in Wigan but when I walked down Oxford Street this morning with the sun out, I was pretty much nursing a semi all the way to my office.

I'm not up for bashing anywhere really, but if I had to choose ...

But for real, who cares. Everyone live where they want to. I couldn't care less, less than less, if everyone on here lived in Grimsby. If it works for you, rock on brother. Personally anywhere else will just be a downgrade for me in this stage of my life. Don't get me wrong, I've seen some wonderful little villages and have even looked at house prices there, but knowing myself, I'll be bored within a week, suicidal in a month. Maybe it'll change when I marry and have kids one day, maybe then I'll dash for the country side, but for the moment I'm enjoying every single day living in London.

Immigration only really happened after WW2 when people from the colonies came over to help rebuild Great Britain after the war, the country needed those select few but now we have all sorts of people coming over, many for the wrong reason.

I'm still an idiot, a buffoon, generally not all that clever and I want to get banned for being racist

People please keep on saying multi-cultiralsm is great

Dear mod, was that edit/add in a little unnecessary, if not hypocritical, you lambaste the poster for showing hatred yet you sink to a similar level.:(

Wow. There is quite a lot of jealous hate towards London  What is funny are those people that are unable to accept London is the same as any other UK city, just bigger. Take any city in the UK and you will be able to find a similar area in London.

Examples, Gloucester vs Cheltenham. Dirty vs Clean - east end vs west end. Birmingham is very similar to Croydon - but that probably is because both have immigration centres. Liverpool and Manchester are larger examples have nice areas and poor areas.... Liverpool and its river is quite similar to the bits around London Bridge. Manchester got nice historic areas which you stumble over all the time in London but mixed with good shopping, similar to Cheapside.

One weird one is that Stafford is almost identical to Redhill for look and feel. Only difference is the accent. Both reasonably quiet towns that are well preserved. Redhill I realise is barely London as it is just outside the M25.

Dear god people it is all the damn same get over it.

There are a few places in London I dislike, Shoreditch being one of them and over near Shadwell. Shoreditch is full of annoying Hipsters and Shedwell and surrounding areas really have sadly moved beyond being British and not even multicultural as there is only one culture there that is not traditional English. I love the docklands, Canary Wharf through to Crossharbour and out the other way to Canning Town. Not a very high population density unless you hunt for it at say the Canary Wharf shopping centre. But plenty of peace, quiet and good river views and nice property. The shopping hubbub and bussle of Tottenham Court Road then Oxford/Bond St over in the Westend from Holborn down to The Strand through to Waterloo the London Eye and Westminster.

I've given up caring what they think because it's just ill-informed rubbish. Call it envy or whatever, they really don't have a clue. They can stay away as it just makes the place even better for those of us the live here. :D
