Red ring of death on my slim! Just outside of warrenty as well. Can't believe my Phat PS3 as outlasted it and i got that 3 years before my 360!

Really ****** off, can you advise on troubleshoot to see if i can bring it back from the dead?

sales of good act my friend ... your covered for 5 years .. assuming you havn't messesd with it
 
No i haven't, i treated it really well and give it a ton of space around it, but it just overheated. How do i go about invoking the sales of good act?
 
hmm ...for some reason my whoel topic in reagrds this ( i took on a company ) seems to have been removed .... odd as there was nothing said bad in it
 
I've never actually seen anyone on here use the sale of goods act to get what they want from companies (despite being in the right).

its proably been removed as it would apply to this site :( although it was on here a couple of years .. ive even quoted it myself in the last 12 months
 
The slim does not and cannot rrod. What it does is turn the power indicator red instead of green. Which indicates a similar failure to the old rrod.
 
Yeah a red dot in the middle and a red glow around the rest of the button. Still means the same thing through. Any ideas on how to fix or just dump it and get a new one?
 
as i said in a previous post .... the sales of goods act mean your covered. you just have to play the "game" to many companies get away with stuff / people cant be arsed to put a little effort in :)

Have you gone through the Xbox site? (i.e. tried to arrange a repair / fix), as it can sometimes show up as £0 charge even out of warranty I think - or at least it used to.

Do slims not come with a 3yr warranty for RROD (and equivalent)?
 
reflow it with a heatgun,look on youtube

have to say these consoles are ridiculous for overheating/failing
 
hmm ... did some digging on here . seems posts get deleted after time to save on space ( didn't know that ) , but some archive stuff is kept from each forum section.

after lookign at the kept stuff in console section i'd love to know why nothing has been kept in regards using the sales of goods act ? my own thread which lasted quite a whiel and was quite informative woudl have been very useful for others on here . would love to have someone from ocuk explain why such posts were deleted ?
