*** The Official OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 Thread ***

One thing I don't like about Safari is when you open up a new tab the page gets pushed down slightly instead of the tab just falling over the page.

Any way to get around this?

Hmm very strange. What model do you have? I'm using the 15" version with the High res screen (1680x1050.)

My Mid-2010 MBP doesn't have any issues with the nvidia gpu. Everything is running smoothly.

If it's the 13" the graphics aren't switchable and it uses the 320m all the time. Only the 15 and 17 inch versions came with Intel HD and NVIDIA graphics, so do the switching.

I haven't seen someone NOT complaining about switchable graphics on either OS X or in Linux. Seems nobody has managed to nail a decent driver down for it.

I have a 13" mid 2010 MBP with 8GB memory and 500GB M4 SSD that I'm triple booting Lion, Windows 7 and Ubuntu on. I have yet to purchase Mountain Lion simply because of the amount of time and effort there's going to be doing a clean install!!!

Probably start doing it when the weather turns again..

Well it seems that doing a PRAM and NVRAM reset on my MBP so far has resolved the issue. Loaded both Parallels and VLC and the colour cast hasn't appeared, even after swapping GPU's a few times.

It's hard to know whether it's just co-incidence though, only time will tell!

I have the 2.4GHz 15" (1680x1050) Mid-2010 MBP upgraded with an SSD and 8gb RAM. Graphics has no problem switching between the two cards.

You have just jinxed me!!! I restarted to test my boot up time, and now i have the bluey screen...

Sorry to hear. I definitely must be a jinx. :(

The same just happened to me again but I think I may have sorted it. Do you have gfxCardStatus installed by chance?

Ah that explains it, completely remove it then reboot, it's that which is causing the problem! Flaming thing. I guess it doesn't agree with ML yet.

EDIT: Seems the developer claims the latest version (2.2.1) is ML compatible, I guess this must be just some sort of specific issue with Mid 2010 MPB's.

I will go with you on that because mine just completely crashed. I only installed gfxcardstatus this evening, and everything was fine before that.

The site said it was mountain lion ready though...

I'd like to have my notes sync from my iPhone to my Mac, but when I select iCloud to sync Notes it asks me to create an @me.com email account... Why do I have to do this? I am using my Gmail as my iCloud account.

Guess no one read the post I linked to earlier.

The SSDs in the MBA and rMBP aren't typical 2.5" SATA devices. They use a custom mPCIe mSATA implementation that utilises features in the Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge architectures that enable PowerNap to function. It only works with those particular models that have blade-style SSDs as standard.
