How was your commute? Olympic special!

I got stuck at King's Cross and walked to Holborn. Bus was just taking too long around there. I was about 20 minutes late for work.

What time was that? I was in Kings Cross at half 8 and the place was like normal/slightly quieter. Perhaps I just missed it then? Although the Piccadilly line wa salways packed.

I got the 17 from Holloway and the end part of Caledonian Road down to King's Cross was rammed. I considered getting the tube actually but I always feel slightly embittered about paying £2.50 for it!

Edit: Sorry, this must have been around 20 to 9, ish.

The Central line tube was actually emptier! Got a seat for the first time in yonks! Arrived 5 mins earlier as well. I KNEW it was all an exaggeration

I actually like it like this. I work in Camden and travel in from Camberwell. This morning the roads, buses and trains had far less people than usual. I know its summer break for students but it was still far less than previous years.

Kings cross was hell getting past on my commute this morning, all clear around angel though, old street roundabout was busier than normal but not awful

Seemed quieter than normal in Liverpool St this morning. Maybe because the Nature Valley gannets weren't being given free bars for the first time in a couple of weeks.

Hope is stays okay for you guys. I am very surprised to be honest; I thought it would be chaos. Hats off to those who have (so far) kept things running smoothly.

I work right in the middle of where the road cycling is taking place. I came over for the men's road race on Saturday and it was no different to normal, so I expect it shouldn't be any different on Wednesday either.

haha - Took the words straight from my finger tips :p

Might be a bit busy tonight though. Where do you travel in from?

Disappointed we made it this far in the thread without somebody popping in to let us know that Londoners all think we are the centre of the universe and tell us to man-up.

GD going down the tubes.

No point in telling the world what they all know. We are the centre of the known universe! :p:D

the met line was quiet for me this morning, will see what the northern line is like in about 50 mins - quiet i hope.

today's a tester, if its bad i'll just walk instead of the tube until the olympics finish.

Was clear as a bell today, worried tomorrow will be a nightmare as everyone worked from home today, and will have been told that the traffic was ok.

Whitechapel -> Farringdon was fine. I've always been cautious that it will be the journey home that is going to be busier than normal though.

Down from Whittlesford (near Cambridge), you? Will have to see how tonight goes, I'm guessing it should be ok but I don't get the train until half six so it may coincide with the crowds. When it comes to public transport, what will be, will be :)

Train into London Bridge dismorning at around 9:30 was fine, London Bridge wasnt busy at all!, and walking too Liverpool was the same as usual.

Hoping tonight when I leave work at 7 it wont be any different!
