Probably not. At best it will save a bit of time when people do the "spec me" threads. However they'll see that X products were eventually purchased after one of these links were used and everyone involved will give themselves high-fives for their awesome innovation.

Yeah, I can see this working out well.

Saw the hyperlinks in the OP ok. Been a while since something like this has happened to me in a browser. Last time was back in the late 1999s when I installed a program called Fly Swat off a magazine cover CD and it did exactly as described in the OP. Started underlining keywords and linking them to search engine results.

I don't mind it but it would be nice if there was a way to differentiate between them and normal hyperlinks as it caught me out on the other thread when someone mentioned microsoft and I couldn't for the life of me work out what their post was meant to mean as I was thrown by the fact the microsoft word was a link.
 
I was playing Team Fortress 2 earlier and managed to capture the intel despite the enemy team trying to stop me!

I remember everyone went bat **** crazy about the banner at the top too :p

Some relevant and salient points though, hardware only for example. May also look at disabling it for members or giving you the choice (I hope you already know OcUK sells this **** !!)

But seriously, saying this is due to the new owners is BS, it's due to me finally pulling my finger out of my *** and doing something I've had on my mind for years.

If they are traditional skimlinks they can generate revenue.

You seem to be implying people are too stupid to click the big overclockers logo and browse the site? The site is already very easy to navigate, is this really necessary?
 
I don't mind as long as it doesn't get to the point of annoying, i.e pop-ups all over the place.
 
Telescopi, one thing that woul be absolutely amazing is if you could implement it so that if someone typed, for example, "Windforce 7970" it would automatically link them to that product :D

I really think it wouldn't affect discussion at all in there, I can't say the same for GD and the other Life sections though :(

If it's possible to implement it that way I don't think anywhere near as much fuss would be made.
 
i found some crucial intel about the silverstone sapphire in the apc at kingston and Captain Lian-Li told me to BeQuiet about it.


this is a good idea to get some more advertising :)

[edit] went through you manufacturers lists to find APC and you don't have that or be quiet lol :( :P

I don't mind these at all, those bloody pop up ads you see on some other forums are far more intrusive. Are these hyperlinks enabled for GD threads? Leaving the Life subforums out would seem sensible
