Tabletop Warhammer?

Anyone doubting any of the KR cases clearly hasn't owned one, I own 2 aluminium full sized cases and they're fantastic, so much better than GW ones (which I have quite a few of), a lot of friends use the cardboard KR cases and these are very (very!) solid too, really easy to carry around in one of their ruck sacks as well.

The card cases are sturdy enough for general travel (but treat them like gremlins, don't get them wet or feed them after midnight), and more than sturdy enough for storage:)

We've got some here that must be about 5 years old and they're still ok:) (mainly used for storage as we use the alu cases for transport normally).

Was home this weekend and found some of my really early attempts XD

Karandras and a converted emporers champion before they made a model for him

Also found a 10 man ultramarine assualt squad with combat weapons, if anyone wants them FOC they can have them. They are only painted very roughly to gaming standard but im sure someone can use them :)

Started an Imperial Guard Valkyrie, but just for display as I don't play at all. Barely done much to it yet despite a couple of hours painting! It's not glued together yet, just assembled for a photo. Really trying hard to give it a metal texture, as the chap in the shop who showed me his (model, that is) did a good job on the details, but the whole ship just looked like it was a flat basic plastic.

So yeah, if anyone's got any criticism, feel free. Still plenty more to do on it, this is just the base with highlighting and a bit of shading so far!

That's lookiing pretty good for a "used" look:)
If you're just doing it for display it can be worth reading some of the military model/scale model sites for ideas (there are some great hints, tips and methods that work great for display but aren't practical for gaming).

Simon, they look great :)

I'm still working on my isle of blood skaven, I actually managed about 90 minute last week (which is more than the previous 3 weeks:p).
I'm actually really liking the new paints the more I use them, especially the way the layers are thinner than the bases, as there is a very definite change in depth when using the base/layer than just the normal paints, for example screaming bell, reikland, hashnut gives a reddish copper that is more golden than screaming bell on it's own, and redder than hashnut (it's sort of a reddish tint).
I'm currently doing the poison wind morter and warpfire thrower using the metals and liking the way they look :)

I tend to get stuck between colours deciding on what to do next* (or rather what colour to use for what) - that and actually finding the time/energy to do it.

*I really want to do my Brass Scorpion (I've had it sat in a really useful box since I got it from FW), and the new imperial masterclass book has an article on painting it, but I'm almost afraid to give it a go:p

Managed 2 more hours last night painting Dryads. Treeman is finished (I think but tempted to keep adding to it) and nearly finished the GS on my Treekin. If GW actually released decent models for them I would not need to make my own but rumours are abound of a release next year for Wood Elves!

Will try to get a picture up tonight if I can. They are only painted to tabletop standard however as I plan to actually use them in games so no high hopes please.

Also placed an order for 3 new brushes and 8 new paints today. Rosemary&Co brushes and Vallejo paints is much cheaper than the GW official ones!

That reminds me, I've got to get back into the garage - I've got the sides for my paint mixer/roller cut, they just need drilling and filing (vallejo paints apparently are best rolled if they start to settle/separate).
I can't believe I'd forgotten about that, given I've got the box of parts under my desk.

I'm not sure why but i'm currently finding the brushes I used to have breaking up fairly fast seem to be lasting a long time (I'm currently using Jarvis sable brushes), which I think must be that I'm either getting better at using them, or just cleaning them:p

Quick shots of my recently completed Dryads and Treeman. Treeman built from a Citadel wood set with lots of GS. My first time using GS and I think I did ok with the blends between branches.

Photo's are not very good. Will make up a booth and get tripod for proper shots next time. Took them handheld in poor light without a flash as the flash just wrecked the colours.

Opinions would be nice and be kind :)

Treekin to follow once I get them undercoated and painted. They are also made from the Citadel wood set. 3 sets of woods got me 6 Treekin and 1 Treeman.

Those look really good, the foliage is great :)

I have yet to take any pictures of any models that look anything like as good as the models do - I think one of my best was taken between rounds of a big game, in very poor light (and it looked better than the ones I've tried in a little booth with indirect lighting).
