There are analogies between them, but an actual link has not been proved. If it was, he'd be getting a nobel prize.
Oh I don't know; watching a crackpot get torn apart by people who actually know what they're talking about tends to be quite entertaining. They usually revert to some defence like "you're only disagreeing with my genius because of your rigid adherence to scientific orthodoxy".

No. mavity and electromagnetism are completely seperate fundamental foces. They act on different things and are caused by different things. Perhaps at some astronomical energy level they might converge (much like electromagnetism and the weak force) but certainly not at levels currently encountered in the universe.
Space curving makes perfect sense. Imagine a 2D piece of rubber sheet which you put a weight on - it'll curve and objects resting on the sheet will be "attracted" towards the weight. Curved space is exactly the same thing. Humans aren't capable of visuallising it since it requires a 4th dimension and we can only think in 3D or less. But just because we can't picture it in our minds doesn't mean it doesn't "make sense".
The question then becomes - what gives particles weight? (by which I mean mass in proper terminology). This is the question which Higgs has hopefully found the answer to.

The objects mass. There is no mavity in effect here, except the mavity relating to the mass of the object. The rubber sheet is purely a means to enable you to imagine the effect in 2 dimensions.
If you imagine the earth being the first ball, its mass causing a bend in the rubber proportional to its mass and then rolling a second smaller ball (like the moon) around the dent in the rubber sheet - with mavity, the smaller ball will not enter "orbit" it will eventually roll down to the mass object (the earth in this case).
Now dispel mavity and imagine that ball does actually orbit the mass and that it too makes a blemish on the "sheet" and these two blemishes affect one another proportional to their respective mass. Then imagine all the planets and their respective masses in the solar system, galaxy, universe and beyond also doing the same thing to the sheet - and you will be just starting to think in 3 dimensions.
When you start adding that each mass is operating in different planes and there are in fact infinity "sheets" (or no sheets at all), then you are a step away from being a mathematician, or a cosmetologist, or like me, are old and have smoked too many funny cigarettes in your youth.

If I claimed, without any supporting evidence at all, that I had invented a magic box that cures all diseases and prevents aging by reversing the polarity of the neutron flow and therefore resetting all cells to a newly mature adult state by comparing them with the automatically created backup image stored in hyperspace, would you be willing to give me money now if I said I'd supply it to you at some point in the future?
What this guy's saying is on a par with that and he's asking for money.
There have been a few cases of someone going against established science and being right, but in every such case they supplied overwhelming evidence. Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. This guy is making numerous spectacularly extraordinary claims and is supplying no evidence. He's also asking for money up front. I'm only surprised that he isn't taking deposits on pre-orders for hoverboards and replicators. Tea, Earl Grey, hot.
Why do you bring it down to money, HE ISNT TALKING ABOUT THAT.
It is simply being open minded and not being constrained by people around them, is that so hard to understand in this world?
He is simple acknowledging that this "scientist" exists and is willing to hear it out until such a time that it is false or otherwise, even the most outlandish things are interesting, after all it harks back to being a child, something nobody ever wants to lose, that creativity is desired.

The money is an important factor. Without it, he'd be just another weirdo on the internet with a website and a bucketfull of ignorance, making up silly things. With it, he's a conman.
So...why haven't you sent me money for my cures yet? I've made up a ridiculous explanation of how they work that fundamentally contradicts what's known about biology. I've provided no evidence at all that they work. I've promised to send them to you at some point in the future as long as you pay me now. So I'm just like this guy. You should believe me and send me money.

I really could not care less, if anything he is the norm, i am ofcourse far beyond someone who would actually fund this venture, but as i said I am simply interested in what occurs, bad or good.

agreed. but how many are high level? i mean if stephen hawkin was willing to bet the HB didnt exist and was willing to bet $100 then who knows what might be around the corner. we have been proven time and time again that just when we think we know it all we find a new way of doing things that pushes tech forward.

Why hasn't anyone came up with a new kind of propulsion to get us into space easier and cheaper?
You would think they would be working hard on this but all you see are old rocket engines that are just as wasteful and expensive as ever, they only seem to care about satellite engines which are efficient but useless at getting us into orbit, it's pretty pathetic really, it's 2012 and we haven't been back to the moon or invented anything new to get us into space.

Their explanation of mavity is utter rubbish, and they appear to have completely ignored the laws of thermodynamics. There's also the inconvenient fact that the level of acceleration required for the travel times quoted would leave any passengers as a thin layer of jam.
The great advances in science have always built on what has gone before, finding ways our previous understanding was incomplete. Newton's laws of motion still work even though relativity has shown them to be incomplete.
