Foreign Films - Recommendations?

Hihi,

As title really. Looking for decent foreign films worth a watch.

I've seen/liked the likes of:

City of God
La Haine
Girl With the Dragon Tattoo (plus the other two)
+ many many others. I just can't remember their names.

I like gritty, violent, thrilling etc etc no romcoms or silly japs flying in the air with swords.
 
I saw the Devil
The Chaser
Yellow Sea
The Good,The Bad and the wierd
The Man from nowhere
The Raid Redemption
Brotherhood of the Wolf
Brotherhood
Mai wei
Special Forces
The Assault

I could go for quite a while with more if you want, but all of those should fit the bill :D

Both excellent films and the infernal affairs trilogy is particularly good. Another few worthy of mention.

A bitter sweet life
Memories of murder
Meserine 1 and 2
Headhunters
9 Rota

And the tv series The Bridge is especially good

^^ These if you're a fan of horror. Martyrs is an incredible film.
Switchblade Romance is also good but I felt slightly let down with Inside and Frontiers.
Inside does have some very good moments but seemed like it ran out of ideas.
Frontiers is watchable but is heavily inspired (read copies) from other popular films, TCM being the main one.
Them is also a decent film but again not very original.
Rec but only if you havent seen the American remake Quarantine

Others on my to see list which fit the bill are Audition, A tale of Two Sisters, Love Exposure and Cold Prey.
 
Låt den rätte komma in (Let The Right One In) - it has been remade but I've not bothered to watch the American remake.

I'll have a look at my DVDs and see if I can think of any more but most of the ones that immediately sprang to mind have been mentioned already.
