Hi

After considering the plethora of options out there iv'e narrowed it down to the parts listed below. I know some people may prefer certain components over other however i just need reassuring that i wont be having any issues with the parts compatibility.

Thanks in advance

No compatibility problems as far as I can see, however you might want to buy a Retail Blueray Drive if you are considering using it for playback.

Everything works fine but what Bacon and Jeff has said will be best. Also I think there's a 1TB harddrive on sale at the moment for £65.
Also, what about a power supply and OS?

clock for clock its faster and 4.5 on IB is easy mode only after that heat is a problem and 4.5 on IB is like 4.8/9 on SB also the latest batches of SB arent clocking very good right now

Yea not sure on PSU. Any ideas? Windows 7 for OS....

@ Stulid - everyone rates these UD5H boards. What makes em so good?

As a relative newbie to overclocking i quite liked the idea of Asus's overclocking utility. Saw a video of it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G7jwCe0QXT0&feature=related and it just looks trouble free

Easytune6 is provided on the disk for the GB board, it has three overclock settings (low, medium, high) or theres an "Autotune" button that you press and it tests your BCLK/CPU frequency specifically to your setup and your done.

Well I came up with this, using the spec you had in mind:

YOUR BASKET
1 x Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 Windforce 3X 2048MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card £323.99
1 x Intel Core i5-3570K 3.40GHz (Ivybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor (77W) - OEM £179.99
1 x Gigabyte Z77X-UD5H Intel Z77 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard £167.99
1 x Corsair Obsidian 650D Gaming Midi Tower - Black £149.99
1 x XFX 750W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Silver' Power Supply £96.98
1 x Antec Kúhler H2O 920 High Performance Liquid CPU Cooler (LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366/AM2/AM2+/AM2+/AM3+) £84.98
1 x Asus Xonar D2X 7.1 PCI-E Sound Card £83.99
1 x Samsung 128GB SSD 830 Desktop Series SATA 6Gb/s KIT with Norton Ghost - (MZ-7PC128D/EU) £83.99
1 x Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (ST1000DM003) £64.99
1 x LG CH10LS28 BD-ROM 10x BluRay ROM / DVDRW SATA-II Optical Drive - Black (Retail) £62.99
1 x TeamGroup Elite 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C11 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (TED38192M1600HC11DC) £29.99
Total : £1,346.36 (includes shipping : £13.75).

* Swapped out the GTX 670 you posted to the Gigabyte Windforce. Mainly due to the fact that it has 3 fans. Better cooling = better overclock :)
* Changed the i5 2550k to a i5 3570k because the new batch of SandyBridges overclock poorly and the i5 3570k will take advantage of the Z77 motherboard.
* Switched a new motherboard in, as listed above by stulid.
* Added the case you chose. Looks a fantastic case.
* Power supply put in. Modular and will allow to SLi in the future.
* Upgraded the SSD to a better and higher capacity one.
* Changed the HDD to a cheaper one (but still performs the same).
* Put in a cheaper Blu-Ray drive.
* Swapped out the RAM for a cheaper kit. Still great, and the difference between 1866MHz and 1600MHz is minimal, unless benchmarking.

I know the RAM is cheap, but maybe something in Blue/Black to match the board (as visible through the case window)?

Just saying:)
