Is melted cheese worse for you than cold cheese??

It might speed up the oxidation process a little, though I'd say the integrity of the food in question is more important to go by, e.g. local produce, organic, etc. In general, meat and dairy are the two most important food groups with regard to the latter.

Cold cheese is better for you, anyone whose ever chomped on an innocent looking 2000°C pizza and have it stick to the roof of their mouth will tell you.

As for melted cheese, can anyone reccomend a cheese for making cheese toasties?

Tried different mature cheddars but they just weren't that great.

Always mild-ish for toasties, otherwise all the horrible fat just pours out

100g of cheese is 40% fat so eating 200g means you're consuming 80% fat. Never eat 300g!!!

LOL, it doesn't work like that. If I had a 100ml glass of 12.5% wine and then had another 100ml, I wouldn't have had 25% alcohol.

Have you tried a nice Cornish Cove Mature Cheddar? MMMmmm.

Surely melted is healthier as some of the liquified fat will drip off the bread/toast and onto the grill/plate.

I've tried the bog standard cathedral cheddar and thats the best one I've had for toasties. But thinking there must be something superior.

I usually get extra mature for my sandwiches but they're all a bit unappetising in a toastie.

Don't normally buy < extra mature as I just find them too plasticky, even if its a cheese from the deli counter.

I'll try cornish cove :)

There is a type of cheese fondue that you're not supposed to drink cold beer with, because it will solidify in your guts and may have to be surgically removed in an extreme case.

So in that particular case, yes.

It's probably an urban myth though. I've heard the same story but with pineapple instead of beer.
