Hi guys,
What is the best least expensive router to pair with the SuperHub in modem mode please?
Lots of choice. I got a new DIR 615 at auction for a tenner. Was supplied by Virgin but never opened or used. Great wireless but not gigabit ethernet if that is important to you.
I've run this for several months, firstly with the old Ambit modem, and for a couple of months with the superhub. It has been totally reliable for me. I use wireless only, and the wireless network gets hammered. But it has never fallen over (yet)
Yes, if I'm unhappy with Virgin it would be the pathetic upload speeds. I'm still waiting on mine to be doubled, but even then it will only be 6MB, 10:1. BT have much better upload ratios, I'll give them that. I guess 10:1 is OK for 90% of people though.
There is an internal rumour that the upload speed will be tripling. Not got any evidence yet though but as soon as I find out for definite you lot would be the first to know![]()
You would expect a higher upload in combination with the higher download speed. What do you get at the moment upload wise?
60Mb down, 3Mb up.
Flashing mine was a great decision, I flashed mine years ago and its now acting as a repeater bridge downstairs. They are a great starting point for getting into dd-wrt since they are so cheap on the bay since virgin sent so many of them out.
