Because at that distance, if I wasn't executing like a 9 year old, my ultra rolls under your fireballs and hits.

I mean, erm, no it doesn't! Don't worry about what I just said, I was wrong. Keep chucking fireballs when my ultra is lit. It's fine, seriously......

hi all, just bought this game and haven't installed yet. Anyone using an x-box controller for pc with this game ? I want to know your input as I am thinking of getting the controller. I want to sit relaxed while playing this game... cheers
 
I think the vast majority of people will strongly suggest you get a stick to play properly.
You can play with a pad though, some people get on very well with one :)

Edit: Not that I could begin to get my head around it, but some people also play to a very high standard on a keyboard too! Not as relaxing as a pad, but if you can use a keyboard to play then perhaps you can play with the keyboard on your lap??

Keyboards good and bad, no shortcuts which can be good or bad, depending on how you play, but a similar input quality to a stick as people have said (not directions, though, far more precise), DP's (Z) are bloody awkward though.

Stick > Keyboard > Pad. Stick being hardest to grasp but the best, keyboard being close for precision and input, but lacks a lot of 'tricks' that'll hold you back in the big leagues. Pad is just meh, great for execution heavy characters but I wouldn't get comfortable comboing or FADCing with it though, but its incredibly easy to use.
 
hi again, have installed the game but I can't get to play, it just loops to the welcome videos and the last segment will be 2 opponents playing, after that it goes to the beginning videos no matter what I press... thanks

PC online is dead. I've been on at random times all week and never get an Endless battle and I'll be lucky to get a Ranked match. I'm sticking to Xbox 360, wasted £10 on the PC version thinking I'd get a different kind of competition.

that's funny cause i had like 30 ranked fights yesterday and about 20 in the last hour or so

I play arcade with the ranked battles drop in thingy turned on and I get a game every 30 seconds or so. I never actually finish a CPU opponent because "A new challenger has entered the ring!" :D
 
wow playing PC version is like playing the 360 version when it first came out, the odd decent players and loads of scrubs
