Best game ending ever?

End of Frozen throne

Spoilers if you haven't played and all that.

Singularity, The Force Unleashed and The Witcher are all great too.

I'm gonna go with the original Call of Duty. Storming the Reichstag was at the time one of the most amazing moments ever in a shooter.

In the last decade, Mass Effect 1.

Yes it even beats Portal for me.

Do Virmire last; everything from this onwards - Virmire, the Citadel lockdown, Ilos, the Citadel end run, oh and pick Udina for councillor for the fist clench and better end speech.
And then it culminates in this:

I liked Portal, but i wouldn't say it's the best ending. The games story itself was good as you gradually tell yourself that something is not quite right instead of it being shoved in your face. Yeah, don't you just destroy Glados and that was it? (Until the Update, but I could see that coming, considering they said Portal was just a test, but the fans wanted more so they had to release something.)

The various endings to the original starcraft all felt suitably epic and same for mech commander a lot of games have very forgettable endings :(

Funny how many of my favourite games have terrible endings now I think of it.

Endings I've really liked over the years:
Grim Fandango
Day of the Tentacle
Full throttle
Mass Effect 1
Both Portal Games
Assassin's Creed
Xwing Alliance
Space Quests 3,4 and 5.

Favourite games where the endings were flat:
DA:O
Bioshock
ME3
Deus Ex HR
Fallout 3
