Kid, that is your opinion, if people buy them, means they perceive it has value.

Maybe they are buying it for a reason other than to own the object, and therefore they are not attaching any value to it?

For example, maybe you could 'buy' something from your employer to reduce your pay slightly and be put into a lower tax bracket?

(I know this wouldnt work in the uk, but i think he said we were talking about asian countries?)

wait, i've just figured it out, its not the stupid fax spam idea but something far cleverer

what you do is claim that you know a way of making £1000 from useless pieces of paper in a public place like an internet forum and ask everyone to guess what it is. you wind up everyone by claiming all the ideas are wrong until they get so desperate to know how you are making money that they offer you some money just to get the info.

you then accept the money and tell them they will receive an envelope with a single piece of paper folded inside it with this post written on the paper

In that case buying that piece of paper has value to them as it will supposedly increase their income. There's personal, perceived value to them, while to everybody else it worthless.

Kid, that is your opinion, if people buy them, means they perceive it has value. I am not saying it does have factual value as I do not know what is the object in question. But if you ask a question and the difinition of the object is subjective, and personal to you, nobody can correctly deduce the answer as opinions differ.

Example being, that football player selling notes that give people ownership of himself, these pieces of paper do not have value to you and thus are worthless to you, while for fans they do have value, may it be in sentiment or something else, personal to them.

However reading your reply I can safely say that you did not understand my original point (which I try to elaborate in this post), so do re-read my original point, it may help you out and please do take more time to understand the post before embarrassing yourself with a crude reply.

I wish I'd thought of this when businesses still used fax machines ;)

I would gladly pay £1000 for a piece of paper that read:

"I hereby promise to ban arekgreenman888 from OcUK, effective immediately,
Signed - OcUK Moderator"

That has no monetary value, im sure many people would pay it though.

There is no answer, at least not a coherent one.
Just a pointless, attention seeking gibberish thread.

"I've got a riddle, here it is.... Oh, I'm not going to give the answer though"

Pfffft, bored, ban.

There is a very simple answer comprising of 3 simple words. I was just giving people the chance to guess it. Thats what riddles are for. But people may need to check the definition of a riddle in dictionary.

As I am so kind here:

"A riddle is a statement or question or phrase having a double or veiled meaning, put forth as a puzzle to be solved."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riddle

This means that answer is not given immediately. I have given so many clues that to be honest its quite obvious, to a smart man like my self anyway.

Capain Spiff, Payment Protection Insurance(PPI) theoretically does have a value assigned to it. Hence, no but do not fall for those things they are almost meaningless.

Given that there are over 2,604,135,416,750,000 possible combinations in the English language that doesn't exactly help.

A smart man like you should see no one here can solve your riddle and the time has come to reveal the extent of your genius!

The answer to a riddle is always obvious to the person who thought of the riddle. If you're expecting this thread to run for a week before you give us the answer you're going to be disappointed. If you string it out that long I guarantee you'll be banned first.

Arek, if you're so smart why do you need to beg for money online?

Mods, can you ban him from the country, too?

You are so smart.
