US TV Shows 2012

Well not that I'd advocate pirating shows that aren't on over here but I've heard bits about these:

Alphas (first season was so-so but the second is much better apparently)
True Blood
Breaking Bad
Burn Notice (probably Marmite but what I've seen I like)
Teen Wolf (probably not to everyone's taste it's a bit teen-y at times but second series has been excellent going by reviews)
House of Lies

True Blood I need to start the new season but my motivation is gone after the last season. Really woeful (Fairys anyone?)

Breaking Bad is good but I stopped watching near end of season 2, episode wouldn't play correctly.

Don't fancy Teen Wolf, looks a bit teenage girl for my liking.

Burn Notice I used to watch, made it to season 4 and have seen FX channel really pushing hard for Season 5 advertisement. Watching re-runs of past seasons I now realise how bad/cheesy the acting was.

Never heard of house of lies :)

Justified is really good. As is Southland. Those are the new ones I've picked up this season.

Regular stuff: Alphas, Breaking Bad, House of Lies...

Oh and Veep.

It's not new for 2012 but Sons of Anarchy is a must-watch as is Justified. Veep is pretty scathingly funny - especially so living here and seeing all the BS that surrounds politics first-hand but not sure how well it'd translate over to the UK. Hell on Wheels has just started a second season, Deadwood-esque series that is pretty slow-paced but interesting enough.

The wife watched Once Upon A Time but I thought it was a bit rubbish. Likewise she likes Person of Interest but I think that's a bit rubbish too :p

Oh Touch is a decent series with some promise too as is Fallings Skies. And that kid abduction spy TV series that I can't remember the name of was interesting enough but didn't get renewed so... Also I think in a month or so a lot of the big-name shows will start up again.

Right now though we're watching Doc Martin on Hulu - proper TV :p

I started watching Justified and Sons of Anarchy but got bored of both. Lasted 4 or 5 episodes of SOA and about 8 of Justified. Maybe I should have given them more time.

Imo the 2012 US summer tv schedule has been absolutely dreadful. They had so many good shows on during the winter that all ended around the same time, and the new shows just don't live up to those ones. Other than Game of Thrones and now Breaking Bad, I've not really watched any US tv shows since things like Dexter, Person of Interest, Big Bang Theory, The Walking Dead, and Homeland finished. The return of most of those shows this winter will make tv viewing much more enjoyable.

Yes do this - in both of these the first half of the first season is laying background and introducing characters for all the stuff that comes after :p

Oh that abuction one was Missing which was decent for a 1 season effort

For those interested, you can go to this site - http://www.pogdesign.co.uk/cat/ and setup an account and then go through the 387 shows they have listed, adding them to your own personal account.

This site will then show you when each episode is airing. It can also then be exported to your Google Calendar to setup reminders on your PC or even mobile phone if it supports it :D
