Sleeping Dogs

humm my game came in the post today but I cant install it?!? I got the disk to avoid huge downloads, its activated on steam but just gets stuck on preparing sleeping dogs?.....surely I can install it ready....?

My copy arrived today from ShopTo! Woo! :) Popped the key into Steam and it's away and installing. Shame I won't get a chance to play it until potentially Monday next week. Grr! :(

Just wondered why this was taking forever, turns out Steam was downloading the media instead of using the DVD... great if you have a fast internet, not so much for me stuck on 2MB!

Here's what you need to do, just in case people don't know:-

EDIT: Scratch that, it's still downloading the content and not using the DVD. Well this is frustrating. What happened to the good old days of popping in the DVD and clicking on Setup.exe? :(

Also, does anyone else's DVD copy give a "the system administrator has set policies to prevent this installation" when it tries to install the C++ 2005 components from the VC_Redist package on the disc?

I've tried some reg key tweaks from the internet, disabling Anti-virus and UAC and tried running as Administrator and the message still pops up. I don't think it's a show stopper, just annoying, as the install does continue.

Firegod your getting the same issues as me, im just going to let the preload finish downloading....thing is, it doesnt look like its doing anything although it is.... strange.

Couldn't resist, GTA in Hong Kong, awesome!

Bought on Steam and just pre-loading, preload file size is only just under 5GB though, so expecting to have to download a whole lot more after activation, game specs on Steam specifies 15GB hard drive space iirc, would also like the high res texture pack.

Fingers crossed this is good, rarely pre-order these days but new releases have been pretty scarce this last few months, so thought why the hell not? + afterall it is GTA in Hong Kong!......I've already said that haven't I? :o Something about the steamy, neon lit streets of Hong Kong that has always fascinated me, the Deus Ex Hong Kong level still rates as one of my faves of all time.
