i too picked up my blue 3ds xl at the weekend with MK7 and Zelda.
im looking to pick up some cheap ds games with it. anything you guys would recommend?

I'll be playing it on the original 3DS, though I might take up Amazon's current bundle offer and sell one of the games to bring the price down a bit.

I stuck with the original 3DS. Zelda OoT and Mario Kart 7 looked so bad on the XL that I decided to keep it.
A huge pixellated mess. I was genuinely shocked at how bad it looked.
The 3D seemed to suffer too as it seemed to have a smaller "sweet spot" which I guess makes sense if it using the same technology (parallax barrier) on a larger screen.

You're mad. Mario Kart looks excellent on the 3DS XL, I've been playing it solid all week!
And the bigger screens give much more leeway with the 3D sweet spot IMHO...
Certainly wouldn't go back to a normal 3DS after having the XL. Not to mention the improved ergonomics, it's much more comfortable to hold.

My NSMB2 came this morning from Tesco, it's really nice, love the gold box we get.
Played it on both a normal 3DS and a 3DS XL, I wouldn't say pixelated mess at all. Much prefer it on the XL plus the normal 3DS gives me massive hand cramp after a short amount of time.

I'm glad you like it, I'm just glad I tested one in the store before purchasing and I think people should be aware of the downsides before blindly buying one assuming it's an upgrade.
